AGF: Why I’ll not testify before Justice Salami panel

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, on Thursday, gave reasons why he would not appear as a witness in the ongoing probe of the suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, by the Justice Ayo Salami-led panel of inquiry. In a statement that was signed by his media aide, Dr. Jibrilu Gwandu, the AGF, maintained that his refusal to testify before the panel was “purely constitutional and not based on any ulterior motive”. Former Oyo lawmaker arrested over ‘assault’ on APC leader

A former Oyo State House of Assembly member, Mr Wasiu Lafioye Akinmoyede, has been arrested by the police for allegedly assaulting a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State. Akinmoyede, who represented Lagelu State consistency in the 8th Assembly, reportedly broke a chair on the head of a former House of Representatives member and chieftain of APC in the local government, Mr Remi Adebayo. He was reportedly arrested yesterday by one SP. Bolaji from Zone 11, Osogbo, Osun State. The Enugu State Government has expressed dismay over malicious and falsehood against it and Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), by the Enugu zone of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC). Coronavirus diagnosed naval rating escapes from treatment centre to smoke hemp

Sundiata Post A Naval Rating who tested positive of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic in Delta State, Saturday escaped from the State treatment centre at the State University Teaching Hospital Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the State after threatening those working at the centre with a knife. The Naval Rating, newsmen gathered, has been pleading with those in charge of the centre to allow him go out to smoke Indian hemp since Wednesday last week but the officials denied him.
