Chris Lake Leads Foundation Vol. 1, a Curated House Music Experience In Vancouver

Chris Lake and company are set to perform for a sea of fans in the Pacific Northwest. Blueprint and Live Nation have reeled in the house music superstar for a headlining performance at the PNE Forum in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday, February 19th. Lake will be accompanied by Nora En Pure, Mark Knight and Le Youth, among others. The event is the first in a new series of events called Foundation, which is “thoughtfully curated for fans of house music” and serves as a place to “revisit the underground foundations and building blocks upon which electronic music was built.” Foundation marks Lake’s only scheduled performance between now and Coachella in April. He returns to B.C. following his big showcase at Shambhala Music Festival in August. Scro...

Liquid Stranger Is No Stranger to a Good Time On the “DIMENSIONS” Tour

Tasked with guiding my friend through his first EDM concert, I was confident Liquid Stranger would take good care of us. The Wakaan boss brought his DIMENSIONS tour to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, B.C. on November 26th for a night of head-banging, hip-swinging fun. I took a small survey of festival-goers at Thunderdome earlier this year and Liquid Stranger was overwhelmingly among the lineup’s favorites. That reputation was well-deserved. Already a fan of his music—songs like “Dissolve,” “Dragonhawks” and “Don’t Stop” serve as building blocks for some of my most cherished playlists—it was reassuring to see his live performance measure up. Stranger was also trusted to close out the final day of Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge’s Ch...

Vancouver’s Fvded In The Park Returns to Glory With Memorable 2022 Festival

Returning to its original festival grounds, Fvded In The Park recently made an electric homecoming to Western Canada. Produced by Blueprint Events, the fest took place on July 8th and 9th at Holland Park in Vancouver. In the previous year, the event was hosted at the PNE Amphitheatre with a single stage due to restrictions instated due to the impact of the pandemic. However, 2022 attendees were able to experience the authentic, three-stage layout for which Fvded In The Park is beloved. Troyboi performs Fvded In The Park 2022. Day 2 saw a bit more variety, with Australian dance music star Dom Dolla bringing his patented tech house sound between...

“We Missed You”: Vancouver’s FVDED In The Park Festival Returns After Two-Year Hiatus

After months of uncertainty, two postponements and an emergency venue change, Blueprint Live’s flagship festival FVDED In The Park finally returned to Vancouver. Normally held in Holland Park, Surrey, 30 minutes outside of Vancouver with a 50,000 person capacity, the 2021 edition took place at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Amphitheater at less than 50% capacity.   Festival attendees didn’t seem to mind the venue change and came out ready to support their favorite local DJs as well as international talent. Headliners included Canadian acts such as deadmau5, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and REZZ as well as superstar Australian DJ and music producer Alison Wonderland. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the downsized version of the festival featured two stages instead ...

Vancouver DJ Performs on Empty Train to Keep Local Music Scene Alive During Pandemic

While the pandemic has certainly put a pause on the ability for artists to perform live at events, it has not stopped them from performing. For many, pre-recorded sets or livestreams have become the new normal and one Vancouver DJ took it to public transit. Kumo Promotions, a Vancouver-based promotional company, has been hosting weekly livestreams for months now out of Studio710, a multimedia studio located in the heart of the city. With the goal to elevate Vancouver’s music industry while simultaneously showcasing the beauty and talent that the city has to offer, the Kumo team was inspired to record a DJ set from the Skytrain, courtesy of DJ K-OG. “We wanted to do something cool, something out of the box, and showcase the city’s beautiful scenery that Vancouverites see every day and ...

US election: Republicans hold back Democrats, narrowing path to Senate control

The battle for power in the Senate tightened into Wednesday as Democrats picked up a seat in Colorado, but suffered a setback in Alabama, and Republicans held their own in high-profile races in South Carolina, Iowa, Texas and Kansas, dramatically narrowing the political map. Republicans fought to retain their Senate majority by turning back a surge of Democrats challenging allies of President Donald Trump, and the Democrats’ various paths to seizing control were growing more limited. With several contests still too early to call, and one Georgia race heading to a January runoff, the final verdict is expected to drag on. Democrats gained a seat when ex-Gov. John Hickenlooper ousted GOP Sen. Cory Gardner in Colorado, a must-win to flip the Senate, but couldn’t hold on in Alabama, where forme...

Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE announced on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, that the first participants have been dosed in the U.S in the Phase 1/2 clinical trial for the BNT162 vaccine program to prevent COVID-19.
