Source: Aaron J. Thornton / Getty It looks like one of our culture’s biggest personalities will be okay. It seems Tamar Braxton is on her way to a full recovery. As spotted on The Blast the reality star is reported to be in communication with her healthcare providers at the medical facility she is currently housed at. Last week she allegedly attempted suicide. While the details on what really happened are still being pieced together the “Love And War” singer shared some very cryptic messages on her social media channels leading up to the incident. This report claims that the release of a trailer for her upcoming show Get Ya Life! triggered her to spiral. According to their sources she was “blindsided” by the clip as she felt it portrayed her in a very negative light. But if you l...
Dave Franco is set to play Vanilla Ice in a biopic about the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper. In a wide-ranging interview with Insider, Franco elaborated on the news of his casting and how he sees the film playing out. “We have been in development for a while but we are inching closer and closer to preproduction,” Franco said of the film, the news of which was quietly revealed last year. He compared the project favorably to The Disaster Artist, the 2017 movie about filmmaker Tommy Wiseau that starred Franco and his brother James. (Wiseau directed and starred in the 2003 cult classic The Room. In The Disaster Artist, James Franco portrayed Wiseau while Dave played co-star Greg Sestero, who wrote a book of the same name about his experience working on the movie.) “With that movie, ...
Dawes will release their seventh studio album, Good Luck With Whatever, on Oct. 2 via Rounder Records. They previewed the LP with lead single “Who Do You Think You’re Talking To?,” a reliably steady rocker built on a new wave-y bass pulse, chiming piano, and cleanly arranged vocal harmonies. “Who do you think you’re talking to? / Is it the man that was here before me?” frontman Taylor Goldsmith sings on the track. “The one that wrecked your heart and walked? / ‘Cause if it is then I’ll let you talk / It’s clear that’s something you’re still working through / But who, who do you think you’re talking to?” They paired the tune with a playful video that makes creative use of green screen, showing the singer as he drives down the highway, pilots a plane into the clouds, launches into space, and...
Blockbuster Month is celebrating the true titans of the genre. All month long, you’ll read through a variety of features digging deep into the greatest hits of Hollywood, from popcorn classics to underrated gems. Today, Clint Worthington revisits a time when the theme park ride was often a part of the summer blockbuster experience. I was never a big theme park guy. Between my disdain for crowds and heat and the high-level anxiety I get around rollercoasters, suffice to say I never actively sought them out in my early years. Then my eighth-grade school band was invited (like many bands do) to play at Walt Disney World in high school, so off we went to Orlando for a week of chaperoned magic — both there and at Universal Studios Florida. Yes, the rides were fun, the merch was overpriced (albe...
Source: Robert Nickelsberg / Getty As the world continues to rally for social equity there are some Black people who prefer to sleep on the floor in Uncle Tom’s cabin. Two women have been exposed as house Negros. As spotted on Madam Noire the females who defaced the Black Lives Matter mural last week in midtown Manhattan have been identified. On Saturday, July 18 two Black women were seen on video vandalizing the street art in front of Trump Tower 5th Avenue. The scene was a crazy one as the general public was astonished and mortified to see people of color defiantly go against the BLM movement. The two agitators are Bevelyn Beatty, 29, and Edmee Chavannes, 39 of Staten Island. After being arrested for criminal mischief they took to social media to gloat about their actions. “The poli...
A few weeks ago, the festival formerly known as Herd Immunity announced that it would be taking place July 16-18 in rural Wisconsin. Despite some bands dropping off the bill, the festival featuring Static-X, Saving Abel and ’90s rockers Sponge actually happened. “Things are going GREAT people are being very respectful. Bet all the BS media won’t be writing stories about this. […] NOTICE the social distancing proving that LIVE MUSIC can be done during times like these,” a statement on the fest’s Facebook page read. See some of the photos of the “socially-distanced” fest below. Things appear to have gone alright for now, something Sponge frontman Vin Dombroski said to the Oakland Press. “If we were gonna do anything like this, it felt like the safest bet I’d seen so far. ...
Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty Tensions are higher and even higher when it comes to the political climate. One official made it clear she is not the one. One of the most polarizing White House officials got put in her place for talking slick. On Thursday, July 16 Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany addressed the eyesore that is the gun violence problem in Chicago. When discussing the issue she took a very clear shot at Mayor Lori Lightfoot calling her the “the derelict mayor of Chicago”. Additionally, she inferred that she was too incompetent to decelerate the murder rate. Brian Bennett, Senior White House Correspondent for Time Magazine reported on the jab via Twitter. This apparently got back to the former lawyer prompting her to respond to the shade. “Hey, Karen. Watch your mout...
Source: Buzzfeed / Tasty Every year we are reminded that all that glitters isn’t gold. One of the hottest Rap acts in the world is now screaming foul. As spotted on Variety Migos are now claiming they were cheated out of millions of dollars. According to the legal documents they are suing their former lawyer Damien Granderson saying he “abused his position of trust as Migos’ fiduciary from the moment he was retained as Migos’ lawyer” and “cheated [them] out of millions of dollars”. The trio accuses the attorney of getting them wrapped up in a bad 360 deal with 300 Entertainment; so bad they had to pay the label millions to get out of the faulty contract. Additionally Quavo, Offset and Takeoff allege that Granderson concealed important facts regarding Quality Control Music’s distributi...
