To mark the occasion, guitarist Stone Gossard looked back at those formative years in a lengthy conversation on Apple’s Strombo show. Gossard told the host that there were “than 60, 70 people. Jack White Buys Busker New Guitar After Jerk Smashes Old One

Add “good deed-doer” to Jack White’s numerous list of accomplishments after The White Stripes icon bought a Scottish street performer a new, $4,000 Fender Stratocaster after the busker’s guitar was vandalized by a drunk passer-by on Oct. 20. The Edinburgh-based busker, Matt Grant, who called himself a “Live loop guitarist and street musician.” started a GoFundMe account to replace his acoustic. He posted a video on Instagram that said “Can’t believe this happened. My livelihood.” Word of the incident and the fundraiser reached White, who asked his manager to reach out to Grant. The young musician recounted the ‘incredible” chain of events on his Instagram page. Punk progenitors Buzzcocks will release a boxset containing the dozen seven-inch singles the band released for United Artists between 1977 – 1980. The Complete United Artists Singles 1977-1980 7” Boxset, remastered from the original tapes, will be released by Domino on Jan. 15, 2021. Of course, along with A-side hits including “Orgasm Addict,” “What Do I Get” and “Ever Fallen In Love With Someone (You Shouldn’t’ve),” are the commensurate B-sides, including, respectively, “Whatever Happened Too…?” “Oh Shit” and “Just Lust.” The package will contain the original Malcolm Garrett-designed sleeves and a 36-page booklet written by author and punk scribe Clinton Heylin.
