Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was interviewed by Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show for the first time ever and spoke about such personal topics as openly about struggling with Chris Cornell’s death, how he handled Pearl Jam’s initial success (he wishes he’d dealt with it better) and also missing a show by his own Seattle supergroup, Temple of the Dog. Stern, a big fan, told Vedder, “it’s very intimidating to meet you.” During the course of the three-hour interview, Vedder also said that while he’s been ok during the pandemic, he’s “worried for everybody. It’s a shame we’re looking at new levels of infection we haven’t seen before. It’s just so incredibly disturbing and irresponsible.” He also spoke about having a Mother’s Day dance party in the garage, voting in swing states a...

A collection of revered rockers — singer William DuVall of fellow Seattle rockers Alice in Chains, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, guitarist Bill Kelliher of Mastodon and bassist Mark Menghi — collaborated for a version of the classic Soundgarden cut “Rusty Cage.” At the start of the video, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil even offers his endorsement of the cover version. Menghi, of the band Metal Allegiance, explains how the collab came together: “Bill and I were talking and one of us brought up how fun it would be to cover a Soundgarden tune, so we decided to do one. At the same time, Charlie and I were wrapping up a few songs and I told him Bill and I were speaking of doing something so he naturally joined in on the fun.” And fun it is. But of course, choosing a vocalis...
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty You know a relationship is done-done when couples unfollow each other on social media. By that measure, it’s a good assumption that Tiffany Haddish and Common had a little lover’s quarrel. Fans tracking the duo’s social media noticed they stopped following each other on Instagram. Eventually, suspicions of her relationship status caught like wildfire after Haddish sent a scathing warning to her exes. “THIS IS FOR MOST OF MY EXS [sic]. BITS AND PIECES ARE FOR DIFFERENT ONES,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “I am sick of my ex F–k Boys and yes YOU still a F–k boy even if we was in a relationship cause you still was trying to f–k when it was over. Boy. Stop reaching out to me trying to be my friend, I don’t want to be your fri...
Billie Eilish debuted her song “my future” at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, so it’s no surprise that when the Trump administration was looking for celebrity support, a report unearthed by The Washington Post described the young singer as “not a Trump Supporter” and “destroying our country and everything we care about.” The Post noted that “Trump’s $250 million coronavirus ad campaign had ‘partisan’ edge, down to the celebrities chosen to participate.” Apparently, there were no further details in the report about how Eilish was doing the things she was alleged of doing. However, out of 274 celebrities considered, apparently, 10 were approved. Other rejected icons included Jennifer Lopez (for her Super Bowl performance which criticized Trump’s immigration policies),...
“As a touring band, we’ve always been aware of the damage our industry and its behavior has done to our environment,” says Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja of Massive Attack at the start of the new, eight-minute documentary, Massive Attack X Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. To address concert tours’ carbon footprint, Massive Attack commissioned a study by the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and planned a 2020 concert in Liverpool, England as a more “green” example for other artists. In the film, the band says they’ve “taken steps to mitigate our carbon footprint, but its always been unilateral.” But then the pandemic scuttled the Liverpool concert. However, the powerful new film sees the band addressing the climate crisis with the input of experts in the field. The project, ...

Apparently, music is in the Young family’s genes. Neil Young’s older brother Bob dropped his first-ever single, “Hey America” with the Peterboroughs, at the age of 78. (Neil is four years, er, younger.) The tune, out on Shakey Pictures Records, features Neil Young on harmonica. “The filming of ‘Hey America’ was done in the Covid 19 environment,” Neil Young said in a statement. “One shot where we’re all standing together, singing without masks was done in three separate shoots with the same background and assembled in post-production to look like three people singing together. Stay safe,” the younger Young added. The shaggy folk anthem, which sounds like Homegrown-era Neil Young, was an inspired creation. “I didn’t set out to become a songwriter and singer at 78 years of age,” Bob Youn...
