HipHopWired Featured Video Source: MEGA / Getty Former (alleged) Black couple goals Saweetie and Quavo continue to swap insults at each other weeks after their split hit the internet. The 27-year-old rap star shed light on the infidelity accusations in the Kendra Jae assisted track titled “See Saw,” per MadameNoire. The song is featured on her seven-track EP titled Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1, released last Friday. In the first couple of bars, Saweetie calls out the Migos rapper for being a terrible boyfriend and directly claps back at Quavo’s tweet expressing “disappointment” that his former Icy girl spoke publicly about their very private breakup. Had me going in, up-down like my scraper (Yeah) Feelin’ dangerous, I thought you was my anchor (Mhm) But you ain’t s***...
For the stoner’s holiday that is April 20, the Foo Fighters shared a trippy animated video for their tune “Chasing Birds.” The clip sees Dave Grohl and company performing, while the singer/guitarist sees “trails” and meets a talking cactus in the clip’s desert landscape. While the lyrics for “Chasing Birds” include “Chasing birds / To get high / I’m never coming down,” it’s not an overt drug song, but the visuals are perfect for those who do enjoy some green, which is legal in Grohl’s adopted home state of California. His bandmates also find themselves melting, falling into a chasm, seeing colorful monsters and having assorted trippy experiences. “Chasing Birds” is off the band’s latest LP, Medicine at Midnight. In 2019, Brandi Carlile performed Joni Mitchell’s entire Blue album at a show at L.A.’s Disney Concert Hall, however, the praised performance wasn’t captured on camera. So on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night, Colbert, apparently gutted that he missed that show, asked Carlile if she’d perform a song from Blue and she obligingly grabbed an acoustic guitar to do “A Case of You.” Carlile was on The Late Show to promote her book, Broken Horses: A Memoir, where the six-time Grammy winner opens up about a life shaped by music. They discussed her “stream of consciousness” approach to writing the memoir, and Carlile shared that she “wanted to write the experience with my faith journey as a queer person.” Carlile also spoke to Colbert about her friends...
Radiohead announced the latest round of archival live shows to be streamed from the Radiohead Public Library vaults. Each will premiere on Radiohead’s YouTube channel Fridays at 8 p.m. BST for seven weeks beginning April 9. The first of the new episodes will be a seldom-seen Jan. 16, 2008 in-store-performance-turned-impromptu-club-show from London’s 93ft East during the In Rainbows era. The legendary show apparently saw the debut of the songs “Faust Arp” and “Reckoner” and the first acoustic performance in eight years of “Up on the Ladder.” The gig was originally intended to be an in-st...
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, a 16-time Grammy winner, two-time Emmy-winning director and genial jack of all trades, adds “author” to his list of accomplishments with the announcement of The Storyteller, his first book, out Oct. 5 . “There is a common thread that runs throughout everything that I do: storytelling,” explains Grohl in a statement. “Whether in song, documentary film or on the page, I have always felt compelled to share moments from my life. This inclination is a huge part of what excites me creatively but also as a human being.” The tome is promised to contain “hilarious childhood mishaps, touching family moments, leaving home to see the world at eighteen, and spectacular stories about Nirvana, Foo Fighters, David Bowie, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop, Paul McCartney.” And...
