FUGA, a music distributor, says that they did not agree to distribute Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign's Vultures 1 and had it removed from DSPs.
Big updates from SG Lewis, who this week announced the name and release date of a forthcoming double album: AudioLust & HigherLove. To celebrate, the Brit has also released a double A-side single with two of the project’s tracks. When paired together, they provide an uncanny tease of the album’s overall concepts: lust, love and the gray areas—or dance floors—between. First up is “Vibe Like This” (with Lucky Daye and Ty Dolla $ign), a pop slow-burner that could pass off readily as an unreleased cut off Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2. Toes will tap and heads will nod as this song elevates from a twinkling piano melody into a potent blend of vocal charisma. “Been around the world, I did / Never felt a vibe like this,” Daye and Dolla $ign croon o...
Alesso and renowned hip-hop artist Ty Dolla $ign have teased a collaboration on Twitter, announcing that new music is in the works. Dolla $ign posted a few pictures on Twitter and wrote, “Cooked up a few of em with my bro Alesso.” The Swedish dance music superstar then retweeted it and added, “They are 🔥.” Alesso recently produced an ominous track for the new The Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson. “DARK” is a house track with eerie soundscapes, distorted synths and relentless, pulsing energy. Late last year, Alesso released a single and music video in collaboration with pop music icon Katy Perry, “When I’m Gone.” The track’s music video premiered during the halftime show on ESPN’s ...
Dusting the cobwebs off a nine-year hiatus, Swedish House Mafia have stunned the EDM community by releasing two new songs in four days. And after their latest drop, it’s clear a new chapter of the legendary trio is unfolding before our eyes. Swedish House Mafia today unveiled “Lifetime,” a haunting single with Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake. With its downtempo arrangement and hypnotic sound design, the track has the feel of a dystopian “Starboy.” Check out the official music video, which was directed by Alexander Wessely, below. In a new interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1, the group opened up about “Lifetime” and its ties to a new album in the works. “It’s 100% feel,” Steve Angello said of the new singl...

After previewing their collaboration during the United Nations Virtual Launch Gala, Don Diablo and Ty Dolla $ign shared a snippet “Too Much To Ask” via Twitter. Today their track has arrived by way of the former’s HEXAGON imprint. Although the collaboration may be an unlikely pairing, “Too Much To Ask” is all we could ask for and more from the two. The track ditches Diablo’s signature future house sound, instead adopting a downtempo, laid-back feel to accompany Dolla $ign’s silky voice. Proceeds from streaming will benefit the United Nations Environmental Programme and Justdiggit’s #StreamToRegreen campaign, as the nonprofit will regreen one square meter of land for every 25 streams. Gatie, who is fresh off three 2021 Juno Award nominations, is on the verge of releasing his new The Idea of Her EP. “Do You Believe” is one of two collaborations from the 10-track record, the other being a song called “lie to me” with fellow Juno nominee Tate McRae. There are not many ways to level up Tiësto‘s smash hit “The Business,” but he somehow found a way. The dance music vet has tapped none other than Ty Dolla $ign to reimagine the track for 2021 and take it into the stratosphere. Akin to chocolate mousse and satin sheets, the sultry “The Business Part II” contains all the sizzling sonics of Tiësto’s original. However, Dolla $ign’s contributions cannot be understated, as he reimagines the refrain from “The Business” and injects it with his own signature R&B vocal flair. Paired with the typically heart-pumping production of Tiësto, who hasn’t lost a step whatsoever at the age of 52, the track is a bona fide must-listen for dance music fans. Considering how much ...
This year has been an odd one so far (to put it mildly), but you probably didn’t have rapper/feature king (and former SPIN cover subject) Ty Dolla $ign covering Nirvana on your bingo card. Late on Monday, the rapper posted a short clip on Twitter of him powering through an instrumental version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” with his band. They look like they’re having fun jamming on the alt-rock standard, which turns…30 this year. Check it out below. Late last year, Ty Dolla $ign released his long-awaited third album, the aptly titled Featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The record featured the king of the collab teaming with stars like Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Post Malone and a whole lot more. As for Nirvana, we spoke with Krist Novoselic late last year about the lasting impact of the ba...
