The best battles on The Voice are more like well-orchestrated duets than knock-down, drag-out fights, and in the face-off between bodie and Jaeden Luke — premiering exclusively on Billboard below before airing in full Monday night — the duo are in perfect harmony. The battle reimagines Justin Bieber‘s decade-old song “As Long as You Love Me,” featuring Big Sean, as an acoustic, lovelorn duet, leaving the 2012 Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit’s synth and hip-hop elements behind. Both bodie and Luke are on Team Blake, and this battle will determine who moves forward in the competition. But there is a world where both men could advance, if one of the other three coaches (Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani or John Legend) decide to steal a singer for their team. It looks like the guys’ best chance will ...
In the new book The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, the show’s creators and producers discuss the Hollywood heavy-hitters who could have been on the cast — including Selena Gomez. Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Molaro revealed that the producers approached the Only Murders in the Building star several times. Before it was established that Amy (Mayim Bialik)’s parents were still together, Molaro had “kicked around an idea that Amy had been complaining about her awful stepsister,” who would be played by Gomez and be “beautiful and great and everyone loves her.” However, things never worked out due to scheduling conflicts. Not exactly gleeful. Chris Colfer didn’t mince words when it came to whether he plans on seeing Lea Michele in Broadway’s Funny Girl. In a Tuesday (Oct. 11) appearance on Michelle Collins’ SiriusXM radio show, the host excitedly told him she had tickets for the musical that very night and invited him along. “Oh no, are you seeing Funny Girl?” Colfer retorted before snarking, “Oh … My day suddenly just got so full.” When Collins then countered that she had seen the show when Beanie Feldstein starred as Fanny Brice, so it was “only right” that she also see Colfer’s former co-star in the lead, he attempted to change the subject by pointing out he had seen the Broadway musical Six the night before. “So you’re not seeing it, is my guess, while you’re in town,” Collins concluded. Colfer replied,...
Paramount is grinning widely this weekend as its creepy pic, Smile, continued to stay atop the chart in its sophomore outing with a projected gross of $17.6 million from 3,659 theaters. That’s a decline of just 22 percent, one of the best holds of all time for the horror genre. The news was just as good overseas. Smile earned $17.5 million from 61 markets for a foreign tally of $40 million and a global haul of $88.9 million to make the $17 million a major profit generator. Smile earned more than enough to beat Sony’s new family film Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which opened to an estimated $11.5 million domestically. Sony expects the movie to benefit from the Indigenous Peoples’ Day holiday on Monday and earn a total of $13.4 million through Monday. Heading into the week...

Jack Harlow is as smooth as a fresh paint job. The “Churchill Downs” rapper looked totally chill co-hosting The Tonight Show on Thursday night (Oct. 6), helping host Jimmy Fallon with some bits, playing a hoops-related game and co-interviewing NBA legend Dwayne Wade during his episode-long visit. Harlow did some couch time too, chilling with Fallon to talk about his new album, Come Home the Kids Miss You and thanking Jimmy for being “early” to get his vibe and having him on The Tonight Show, as well as for appearing in the video for “First Class.” In fact, Jack noted that he tried to perform Fergie’s “Fergalicious” in 5th grade at a talent show — he sampled Fergie’s “Glamorous” on “Class” — “and you know the lyrics are suggestive, I guess,” he said, recalling that he was cut off mid-way th...
The Masked Singer is well and truly hitting its groove, with another bunch of celebrities unmasked and sent home Wednesday night (Oct. 5). Episode 3 was “TV Theme Night.” And there was twice the fun, with a double hit of reveals. The first act sent home, the Mummies, were nothing short of “TV royalty,” in the words of host Nick Cannon.
