Willem Dafoe brings some seriously big Green Goblin energy to this week’s Saturday Night Live promo. The 66-year-old Spider Man: No Way Home star is positively giddy in the spot featuring this week’s musical guest, Katy Perry, and cast member Chris Redd. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news “Oh man! I love this sketch already,” Dafoe giggles as Redd gently explains that they’re filming the promo, not the show. “Hey, whatever you call it. It’s hilarious!” In the second bit the scene turns a bit dark as Redd and Perry seem to be working out some previously private drama. “Katy, can’t believe you’re back,” a distressed Redd says with a sigh about the singer’s upcoming (Jan. 29) fourth go-round as musical guest. “Why? Does that scare you?,” Perry — wear...

There’s a saying that you should never meet your idols, but Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose beg to differ. It was the spring of 2019 when Rita Moreno showed up to rehearsals for the new West Side Story movie at Gelsey Kirkland dance studios in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood. She is an actor and executive producer on the film, but to many of the young members of the cast, the first Latina actress to win an Academy Award meant so much more than that. Moreno strode into the room and asked to meet the person playing Anita, the heir to her Oscar-winning role from the 1961 adaptation of the musical, but she was nowhere to be found. “I was having a full-fledged panic attack,” DeBose admits. “I hid underneath the bleachers for like 20 minutes until I could get mys...

Disney on Tuesday responded to recent harsh criticisms made by Peter Dinklage about the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White. The Emmy-winning Game of Thrones star was a guest on Monday’s episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, where he blasted the announced film based on the 1937 animated classic. After noting the casting of West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler, Dinklage told Maron: “Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White — but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive...
Wood excoriates Warner directly here, recounting how physically, sexually and psychologically abusive he had been, cruelty which included drugging her and then raping her while they filmed the music video for his song “Heart-Shaped Glasses.” Only the first portion of this two-part HBO series was made available and shown via the Sundance Film Festival as this review went to press, but it’s pretty hard to see how Manson’s already shredded reputation will recover from it, no matter how much he denies, as reported here, that any of the allegations are true. Woods alludes to the fact that several other women, such as the actor Esme Bianco, have alleged that they suffered similar abuse from him and perhaps some of them will speak about it on camera in part two of Rising Phoenix. Kanye West’s recent public demand to have final approval over jeen-yuhs, the three-part documentary about his career, is not the first time he’s tried to have a say in the docs’ narrative. Filmmaker Coodie Simmons recalls conversations with the rapper about jeen-yuhs when it was in earlier stages. “When it came down to making it, I had to let him know to make this film authentic, he had to step back,” says Simmons, who co-directed the doc with Chike Ozah, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I had to take control of this narrative that God created — we didn’t create this. And he said he trusted I would do a good job on it.” Explore Explore Kanye West See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Jeen-yuhs (pronounced “genius”) is described as a “Kanye trilo...

Four singers then chime in, but despite performing in such a classy setting, the vocalists dive right into the raunchy, NSFW lyrics, with a more upbeat feel than the original. America’s Funniest Home Videos is paying homage to former host Bob Saget. It’s been my honor to continue carrying the torch Bob so brightly lit.” Ribeiro then introduced a montage of clips he described as showcasing “Bob being Bob.” During the montage, clips of comical moments from Saget’s time hosting the show were shown.
