Spanish regulator orders Binance to cease offering crypto derivatives

Binance has dropped its crypto derivative offerings in Spain as it is yet to be fully licensed in the country Elsewhere, Binance Turkey is taking legal action against fake ads The largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Binance, has been told by the securities regulator in Spain, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV),  to stop offering customers its crypto derivatives products, as per local reports. Women’s interest in crypto grows, but education gap persists: Study

Even though female investors are increasingly interested in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, there is still a significant knowledge gap when it comes to these topics, a new study reveals. BlockFi noted that a third-party survey panel conducted the study on Jan. 28, 2022, and included 1,031 female-identifying Americans between the ages of 18 and 65. According to a recent study by BlockFi focused on the shifting attitudes toward cryptocurrency, 92% of the women surveyed have heard about crypto, with almost one in four (24%) already owning some. In contrast, 80% still find it difficult to understand and 72% believe investing is too risky. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and ruling Ak Party officials met earlier this week to discuss the metaverse, with the president calling for comprehensive research on the subject. Erdoğan has reportedly urged the Ak Party to study the metaverse, cryptocurrencies and how transactions are made using them, according to a Daily Sabah report. Ava Labs and EV maker Togg to build smart contract-based mobility services

Turkey’s electronic vehicle (EV) manufacturer Togg has announced a strategic partnership with Ava Labs to design and build smart contract-based services aimed at improving autonomous mobility.  Togg’s collaboration with Ava Labs, a team dedicated to supporting and developing the Avalanche public blockchain, was revealed at the CES 2022 event in Las Vegas. Binance Turkey fined 8M lira for non-compliance against money laundering

The Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) has fined Binance Turkey 8 million lira (nearly $750,000) after the crypto exchange failed the financial watchdog’s audit for monitoring Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.  The Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), which serves as Turkey’s financial intelligence unit under the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, found crypto exchange Binance’s Turkey operations guilty of violating laws that intend to prevent the laundering of money acquired through criminal means. Turkey’s crypto law is ready for parliament, President Erdoğan confirms

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reportedly confirmed the completion of a crypto law draft that will soon be shared with the Parliament for mainstream implementation in the country. In an effort to counter the falling value of the Turkish lira, President Erdoğan shared plans to implement a new economic model while speaking at a press conference in Istanbul.
