Over the course of their storied career, Tritonal have donned many hats in the recording studio, displaying a level of versatility that has been key to their success. Upon the release of their 2011 debut album, Piercing The Quiet, the duo had their feet firmly cemented in the trance lane. But that cement would eventually dissipate, inspiring a shift towards the emerging electro house scene. As the pair strayed from euphoric trance melodies, they gradually earned mainstream attention within the confines of the surging progressive house and big room genres. Tracks like “Now Or Never” (with Phoebe Ryan) and “Untouchable” (with Cash Cash) tightened the grip Tritonal had on those sounds. The Texan tandem continued on this exploration well into the mid-2010s, not st...
Mixmash Records is making dance music dreams come true this Miami Music Week. Miami Music Week (MMW) is among the biggest celebrations of the year for electronic dance music enthusiasts, and with the festivities finally returning after two years off, party organizers and artists are ready to make up for lost time. Mixmash, Laidback Luke‘s flagship record label, has remained a staple of MMW, and we suspect that won’t be changing anytime soon. Returning to South Beach for a poolside takeover, Mixmash’s party is already boasting some serious potential. Soon it’ll be time to party the day away at the Nautilus Hotel with Luke, Audien, Morgan Page, Riggi & Piros, Sevenn, Syence, Tritonal and more, but that’s just the beginning. Consistent with prior ...

Trance and progressive house music star Gareth Emery seems to always be at work on something new, be it music, live performances, funny videos, or cryptocurrency-based ventures. Now, the famed producer and DJ has announced a brand new curated music festival called Metropolis. Metropolis is a two-stage festival featuring some of trance music’s most recognizable names. Along with Emery, fellow trance titans Andrew Rayel, Cosmic Gate, Tritonal, HALIENE, and Ruben De Ronde will be playing sets across both stages. The main stage will play host to the more festival-oriented side of things, while the second room will feature deep sets from each artist. Emery expressed his excitement at the two-set system: “All of our guests very much enjoy the deeper side of dance music, and we’...
Trance titans Tritonal are well known to be a chart-topping act. Flexing their unique trance stylings with a mainstage edge, the duo have dominated the genre for a decade and amassed over a billion streams worldwide. During the pandemic, however, Tritonal saw fit to take the downtime for some introspection, and the result is phenomenal. Taking a step back from the center stage of progressive house and trance, Tritonal have now put forth their newest offering, Reverence. A ruminative and pensive album through and through, Reverence is unlike any of Tritonal’s previous releases. Released on Earth Day and crafted for a meditative experience, the album offers soothing and ambient soundscapes that will take listeners on a journey through their own consciousness. Soulful, ...
Beloved vocalist and songwriter Cristina Soto has been on an acoustic journey since June 2020. Last year she delivered two impressive stripped-back covers of her classic collaborations, the 2012 Seven Lions remix of her breakout hit with Tritonal “Still With Me,” and the 2015 ILLENIUM and Said The Sky tune “Painted White.” She’s now back with another Tritonal acoustic mix of 2011’s “Lifted.” “I was so excited to rework ‘Lifted’ as an acoustic mix because the progression, melodies, and lyrics are strong, and I felt that it could stand the test of time,” Soto shared in a press release. “The message of imperfect love is also still a relevant one.” Cristina Soto delivers lush acoustic version of Tritonal classic “Lifted” The aco...
Tritonal‘s first album in nearly two years won’t quite be what fans expect. And while it may be unconventional, it has the potential to be one of their finest. The veteran dance music duo have announced Reverance, a new meditation album. Set to be released in April 2021, the record is inspired by the meditative music of Brian Eno, Nils Frahm, and Ólafur Arnalds as well as Tritonal’s own personal spiritual journeys. Reverance will be Tritonal’s first since 2019’s U & Me. Check out the official teaser video below. Tritonal teased the album in January 2021, announcing they completed a “one big cohesive ethereal & meditative piece of music” in one single Logic Pro project file, which contains a staggering 417 channels. According to a ...

This time around, however, they went in a different direction with their creative process. In 2012, when Seven Lions remixed Tritonal and Cristina Soto‘s breakout track “Still With Me,” it catapulted the single to what Spotify considers part of the Best Dance of the 2010s. Both the original and remix combined have raked in over 30 million plays. Soto’s angelic vocals were the driving force of the track, creating an ethereal veil that allowed the production to shine through. She’s now back to revisit the remix, delivering an acoustic mix of the global hit. Soto channels the structure laid out by Seven Lions while still making it her own through wide-open soundscapes brought on by the lush guitar work of her brother, Rob Soto. They add even more emotion to the track by adding in strings by Haydn Vitera and bass from Omar Vallejo, two well-k...
