“Do you think rock stars are special people?” That’s the question that kicks off the trailer for Taurus, the upcoming music industry drama starring Machine Gun Kelly. In the video, released Thursday (Oct. 27), the musician otherwise known as Colson Baker plays Cole, a depressed musician on the verge of self-destructing amid his seemingly glamorous L.A. lifestyle. A new anime based on the legendary figure is set to make its debut this Thursday on Netflix. Lakeith Stanfield voices the titular character for Yasuke, who was said to be a servant of Italian Jesuit missionary Alessandro Vaglignano. The pair traveled to Japan around 1579, where they met warlord Oda Nobunaga. Because of his size, Nobunaga made Yasuke his personal bodyguard according to accounts. Spike Lee has revealed the first teaser trailer for David Byrne’s American Utopia. The HBO production premieres Saturday, October 17th. Lee’s latest joint is based on Byrne’s 2019 Broadway show of the same name, which is itself inspire by Byrne’s most recent album American Utopia. The trailer shows off Lee’s kinetic camera work, capturing the movement of the 11 singers, dancers, and musicians accompanying Byrne.
