Yungblud Cancels Trio of Fall North American Shows Due to ‘Unforeseen Consequences’
Yungblud had a good news/bad news scenario for his fans on Tuesday (July 12). On the one hand, the “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today” singer announced that, unfortunately, he’s been forced to cancel 3 planned North American fall tour dates. The good news, however, is that he promised, “I will be back soon and have massive plans. All will be made clear soon. It’s gonna be fookin mental.” To backtrack a bit, in a statement, Yungblud explained that he has been forced to drop a Sept. 13 gig in Montreal, a Sept. 15 show in Toronto and an Oct. 22 gig at the Union Event Center in Salt Lake City, Utah from his 2022 tour schedule. The hip-hop heavy Day N Vegas festival was canceled on Friday (June 1) due to poor ticket sales, making the event financially unsustainable, according to sources familiar with the situation. Promoter Goldenvoice knew there was an issue the day after tickets went on sale, June 10, sources tell Billboard. Ticket sales simply did not meet the sales goal that day, or the days that followed. By canceling Friday, with the start of the festival still more than 60 days away, AEG only has to pay 50% of the artist fee — a compromise that was reached with the major talent agencies last year amid touring’s return from the pandemic. LONDON —Italy’s communications regulator has fined Viagogo 23.5 million euros ($24.8 million) for selling tickets to concerts by rock and pop stars like Maneskin, Pearl Jam and Dua Lipa at vastly inflated rates, thereby violating the country’s strict rules around the resale of concert tickets.
