‘A top player’: Paul Robinson urges Tottenham Hotspur to avoid selling 28-year-old attacker

In an interview with Football Insider, Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham Hotspur to keep hold of Erik Lamela even if they make additions to their attacking department this summer. The Argentina international has been with the north London side for nearly seven years and during this period, he has made 214 appearances across all competitions. In the current season, he has managed 27 outings with the capital outfit but only 13 of those appearances have come from the starting lineup. Still, he has made a decent impact with four goals and six assists and Robinson believes the 28-year-old has more to offer to the club. “I like Lamela. He has been a top player for Spurs and he has been there a long time,” He told. “He has come on a couple of times this season and really made an impact going forw...

Report: Tottenham keen on 9-goal attacker but face competition from Leicester City

Tottenham are keen on the Borussia Moenchengladbach forward Alassane Plea. According to Bild, Leicester City are keeping tabs on the player. The Londoners need to improve their attacking options this summer and Plea would be a good signing for them. The Bundesliga ace will add goals and creativity to the side. He has done well in Germany since moving to Gladbach and he has the quality to shine in the Premier League as well. He has 9 goals and 7 assists to his name in the league this season. Spurs are overly reliant on Harry Kane for goals and Plea’s arrival will give Mourinho another option. Also, the Gladbach ace can play across the front three and he would give Spurs the option to try out other formations. Plea can be the alternative to Kane or he could partner the England international ...

Irrespective of where Tottenham Hotspur finish this season, there’s no doubt that Jose Mourinho will be looking to make some changes to the current squad. Ideally, he would want Daniel Levy to hand a massive transfer kitty so that he can rebuild the squad to his own taste. However, the global economy has changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and clubs will struggle to spend freely. Mourinho may have to operate on a low transfer budget and that is a big challenge for Spurs. One of the players they could be targeting in the summer is QPR’s attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. In a Q/A session with Tottenham fans, reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed that Spurs have scouted Eze during the season. According to reports from the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur ‘have received a green light in their bid’ to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton in the summer transfer window. However, with most leagues across Europe suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is not sure when the transfer window will open in the summer.
