The Knocks Announce Collaborators and Release Date of New Album, “HISTORY”

It looks like The Knocks are on the precipice of their biggest and most impactful project yet. The veteran duo have long flexed an inimitable ability to produce blockbusting music at the intersection of disco and house, but they’re yet to release a genuine tour de force. However, that may change on April 29th, when they release HISTORY. It’s early, but it’s not a stretch to call the record a darkhorse for the year’s best dance album. The Knocks are teaming up with a formidable group of collaborators for HISTORY, such as MUNA, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Cold War Kids, Parson James and Yoke Lore, among others. If that list is any indication, longtime fans are safe to expect the bubbly indietronica sound they’ve come to know and love. The tandem are also...

Anna Lunoe Teams Up With Genesis Owusu for Silky Smooth House Track, “Back Seat”

When it comes to electronic music-making, it truly can take a village. Anna Lunoe‘s latest release, a collab with Genesis Owusu called “Back Seat,” is our case in point.  Out via the Nina Las Vegas-helmed NLV Records, “Back Seat” is a hip-shaking acid house triumph. It’s also Lunoe’s first original single of the year, marking an exciting return for the Australian dance music veteran. The song shines bright with Owusu’s silky smooth vocals. They’re perfectly matched by an infectiously funky bassline from Aussie artist Touch Sensitive, guaranteed to be stuck in your head for days.  And those aren’t the only friends who pitched in, according to Lunoe. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and...

Bonobo is crossing a career milestone today with the launch of his new imprint OUTLIER. The new venture comes in partnership with Ninja Tune and expands on the series of club shows and festival stage takeovers under the same moniker. To kick things off, he’s teamed up with friend and fellow UK producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) to drop the label’s inaugural single “Heartbreak.”  Bonobo shared in a press release that the new imprint will “reflect the more club focused side of what [he is] building with OUTLIER. “‘Heartbreak’ seems like a good starting point and was the track that became the catalyst to start the label,” he continued. “One for the dance floors in a time when they’re dearly mi...

Bonobo Reveals New Collaboration with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

In a bona fide dream collaboration, Bonobo and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs are teaming up on a new single. The new tune will be Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ first project since the late-May release of his scintillating I Can Hear The Birds EP, a song-cycle of ambient ballads wherein the renowned British electronic music producer used field recordings of warbling birdsongs. As for the Grammy Award-nominated Bonobo, the impending single represents his first solo track since he serendipitously shared two unreleased songs on SoundCloud back in July, which he produced “around the same time as [debut album] Animal Magic, around 20 years ago.” Both Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Bonobo took to social media to announce the forth...

ODESZA and Golden Features Unveil the Latest BRONSON Masterstroke, “DAWN”

A 7-minute, 23-second journey through the peaks and valleys of BRONSON’s gripping sound, “DAWN” oscillates between heart-pumping drum patterns and airy soundscapes remini...

Listen to This EP Created with Recordings of Birds from Renowned Producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

When Alfred Hitchcock released his legendary 1963 horror film “The Birds,” he portrayed our graceful, winged friends as vicious birds of prey hellbent on gouging out the eyes of humans. Renowned British electronic producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED), on the other hand, went the opposite route, using them as an elegant source of inspiration for his ambient I Can Hear The Birds EP. Spanning four tracks, the project represents a departure from TEED’s sound, but that doesn’t make it any less striking. Eschewing his penchant for indietronica and UK garage flavors, I Can Hear The Birds is a scintillating song-cycle of ambient ballads that uses field recordings of warbling birdsongs as each track’s backbone. The tapes were insp...
