Kearns, who landed his first industry job at Bedlam Music Management/Dine Alone Records in 2014, laid the groundwork for CAMP just two years later. The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc indigenous nation in British Columbia announced last week it had found the remains of 215 children, some as young as three, buried at the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential School, once Canada’s largest such school. As North American music festivals return at a dizzying pace, Toronto’s Veld Music Festival has sadly met a different fate. Organizers today announced that the 2021 edition of Veld has been moved to 2022, citing the uncertainty of the pandemic. The silver lining for fans, however, is the fact that EDM superstars Martin Garrix and Marshmello have been confirmed as headliners for the new dates. “Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions and our commitment to the safety of our fans and staff, Veld Music Festival will be postponed until 2022,” reads the statement before announcing the event’s headliners. As reported by Complex Houdini life’s was cut short on Tuesday, May 26. According to CP 24 gunfire erupted in broad daylight outside of a hotel in Toronto’s Entertainment District. Local police responded to several calls regarding the incident which is said to have occurred at King Street and Blue Jays Way sometime after 4PM in the afternoon. When they arrived a Black male was found laying on the ground with wounds. Two other unidentified victims, a 15-year-old boy and 27-year-old woman, were also found shortly after.
