Timothy Olyphant has joined the cast of Steven Soderbergh and Ed Solomon’s upcoming HBO Max series Full Circle, Variety reports. Olyphant joins Zazie Beetz and Claire Danes in Full Circle, a six-episode crime drama. The official synopsis of the series explains, “An investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures in present-day New York City.” Soderberg will direct all six episodes of Full Circle and is executive producing the project alongside Solomon, who is also writing. Casey Silver also serves as executive producer. A release date has yet to be announced. The three previously worked together on the 2021 film No Sudden Move, while earlier this year Soderberg directed the Zoë Kravitz-st...
Word’s been out for a while that Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington are set to star in David O. Russell’s unnamed next film, but now, we finally have some concrete details about the project, as well as a first look photo featuring the trio. The movie, called Amsterdam, hits theaters on November 4th. The first details about Amsterdam arrived at Disney’s CinemaCon presentation on Wednesday, so the official description of the film is naturally a little vague. Set in the 1930s, Amsterdam “is an original romantic crime epic about three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history.” In addition to the three close friends of Bale, Robbie, and Washington, the film’s stacked cast also includes Robert De ...
The Pitch: When we last left Mando (Pedro Pascal), he’d just been tasked with a holy Mandalorian mission to track down Baby Yoda The Child’s species and return him to them — a mighty feat given that no one’s ever seen anything like him. Still, even though he’s left the bounty hunting life behind (for now), his quest will still take him to the farthest corners of the galaxy, righting wrongs along the way. While Season 2 will surely have more answers to the show’s broader, arc-based questions, the series premiere, “The Marshal”, kicks off Disney+’s hit with a no-frills space Western of the classic mold. Seeking a Mandalorian rumored to be on Tatooine (the identity of whom any self-respecting Star Wars fan can piece together), Mando heads to a remote mining settlement on the desert plane...
Last week, we learned that Timothy Olyphant had joined the cast of The Mandalorian Season 2. Now, Slash Film is reporting that Olyphant will be wearing Boba Fett’s armor, which, uh, doesn’t make a lot of sense, considering Temuera Morrison is playing Boba Fett. So what gives? The simple answer is that someone else had donned the bounty hunter’s protective garb before he wore it. And while that character’s identity hasn’t been confirmed, devoted Star Wars readers will already have someone in mind: Cobb Vanth, former slave, sheriff of the Tatooine city of Freetown, and one of the breakout minor players in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy of novels. There are a few clues pointing in Cobb Vanth’s direction. To start, the Aftermath books take place after the R...
The Force is strong with Timothy Olyphant. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadwood star has joined the Star Wars galaxy by signing on for the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. As of publication, there’s no word on who he’ll be playing, but given Olyphant’s hunky looks and trademark wit, we’re kind of, maybe, okay, we totally are, hoping he’s playing Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire. That may be wishful thinking, but seeing how we’re seeing Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, it’s not exactly out of the question. At the very least, it would connect that Star Wars legend. Whatever the case, Olymphant joins a stacked cast that also includes The Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn in an undisclosed role. We’ll also take Biehn as Renda...
