If you’re a fan of Nic Cage and/or Nic Cage memes, you’re going to love The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which is essentially a Nic Cage meme come to life. The upcoming film from Tom Gormican stars Cage as a fictionalized version of himself, who, after finding himself strapped for cash, agrees to take a $1 million dollar gig to attend the birthday party of his biggest fan, Javi (played by Pedro Pascal). As it turns out, Javi is a drug lord being investigated by a CIA agent (Tiffany Haddish), who ropes Cage into being an undercover operative. The actor is then “forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.” The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will hit theaters on April 22nd, 2022...
Comedian Tiffany Haddish was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) early in the morning of January 14th. Via TMZ, she was allegedly dozing in the driver’s seat of her car, and the enormous smile in her mug shot would seem to suggest she’s not too worried about the charge. Reportedly, officers in Peachtree City, Georgia, responded to a call for a sleeping driver at about 4:00 a.m. ET on Friday morning. She was arrested for DUI and for improper stopping on a roadway. Cops told TMZ they also believed she’d smoked marijuana, though that wasn’t included in the charges. Haddish had a short stay in police custody; by about 6:30 a.m. ET she’d posted $1,666 and bonded out of jail. HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty While some people might’ve forgotten that Common and Tiffany Haddish were an item a minute back, Common’s recent comments about their breakup reminded everyone about their previous relationship and they seemed to have rubbed Haddish the wrong way. In a recent interview with Jason Lee on Fox Soul’s Hollywood Unlocked, the Night School actress said she was “disappointed” in Common saying that their breakup was a “mutual” decision and that the reason behind it was that he felt that they didn’t want to be in a relationship where they’d “be one foot in, one foot out.” After Lee asked her why he dates famous women, Haddish simply said “He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody; maybe he’s like, you know, like a ...

The Pitch: Birdtown’s most endearingly dysfunctional duo is back, and they haven’t really changed that much. Toucan Tuca (Tiffany Haddish) is the same boisterous, ebullient, troublingly irresponsible thirtysomething she always was; same with Bertie (Ali Wong), a neurotic songbird wrestling with deep-seated impostor syndrome and a stable, if unexciting, relationship with longtime live-in boyfriend Speckle (Steven Yeun). Bertie’s shopping around for the right therapist to figure out her myriad personal issues, including reeling from the sexual harassment she experienced at the hands of a celebrity chef she worked under last season. Tuca, for her part, wrestles with her neediness and insomnia, and the sudden responsibilities thrust upon her by a rapidly passing sense of adulthood. Togeth...
This review is part of our Sundance 2021 coverage. The Pitch: Longtime best buddies Val (Jerrod Carmichael) and Kevin (Christopher Abbott) love each other about as much as they hate living. The latter is in a mental institution after his latest in a lifetime of attempts to kill himself; the former is deeply depressed, with a dead-end job and a fractious relationship with girlfriend Tasha (Tiffany Haddish). After Val breaks Kevin out of the joint, they hatch a scheme: live one last day to the fullest, finish their business, then shoot each other at the same time with a pair of handguns Val picked up. It’s a murder-suicide pact born of a lifetime of trauma and love, and that bond will be tested in more ways than one by the time the day is done. It’s a Great Day to Be Alive: Directo...

The comedy star also said that her hair, makeup and wardrobe would not be covered either. “All of that would have to come out of my pocket,” she said. “I don’t know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think it’s disrespectful. “I was like, ‘The exposure is amazing but I think I have enough. I appreciate you guys asking,’” she continued. “And as much as I appreciate the honor of ...
