The Jack White-founded label is now offering fans the chance to physically own a piece of Third Man history via an online auction. Set to run from August 26th through the 30th, the “Garage Sale” will feature “one-of-a-kind” collector’s items from the label’s archives. Jack White and Third Man Records will auction off guitars, amps, personal items, stage equipment and other one-of-a-kind items from the label’s archives and White’s musical career and collection. Included in the online “garage sale” will be drum sets used in the White Stripes’ “Hardest Button To Button” video. The auction starts at 9 a.m. CST Aug. 26 and runs to 9 pm CST Aug. 30, and takes place here. Big Joanie offer a fuzzy post-punk facelift to Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” for a new single, out Aug. 14 via Third Man Records. The British trio added distorted guitars and booming drums to their cover. Solange issued the original track as the lead single from her third LP, 2016’s A Seat at the Table. The Stooges fans will be happy to hear that Third Man Records is releasing The Stooges’ Live At Goose Lake: August 8, 1970. It will showcase previously-unheard soundboard recording of the original Stooges’ final show together — honoring the performance’s 50th anniversary. The limited-edition colored vinyl will come in a variety of colors. The Rough Trade edition will be purple vinyl with a standard LP jacket while the indie exclusive version will be on cream-colored vinyl with a screen-printed LP jacket. CD and digital version of the album will also be available. The recording was found on a 1/4″ stereo two-track tape in the basement of a Michigan farmhouse.
