Anvil! The Story of Anvil, the 2009 documentary following the cult Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, is receiving a theatrical re-release this fall and will also be hitting digital streaming services later this year. Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the acclaimed documentary shed light on one of the hardest-working metal bands that never made it during the 1980s. Formed by singer/guitarist Steve “Lips” Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner, the band has trudged forward for decades despite a lack of commercial success, as earnestly depicted in the film.
