Jack White’s Third Man Records announced their 50th vault package, The White Stripes – Live At The Detroit Institute of Arts. Documenting the band’s performance on November 2, 2001 in the museum’s Diego Rivera Court, the packages include a red and white 2-LP set featuring soundboard audio, a pro-shot DVD of the complete show, previously unseen images, and a custom gatefold jacket. Fans can sign up to subscribe to the vault package until midnight CT on October 31 via Third Man’s website. “That was the best thing we’ve ever done. This past weekend, the White Stripes celebrated the 20th anniversary of White Blood Cells. They released a digital-only, deluxe 20th anniversary edition of the album and shared a previously unseen version of “I’m Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman” filmed at the Gold Dollar in Detroit. Today, the White Stripes unveiled their performance of “Fell in Love With a Girl” that took place on the British TV show Top of the Pops in February 2002. You can watch that performance below. Back in 2011, electronic band The Glitch Mob produced a remix of The White Stripes‘ 2003 classic, “Seven Nation Army.” While popular, the remix never saw an official release and thus unfortunately never made it onto streaming services or into fans’ personal music collections. That’s all set to change tomorrow, when The Glitch Mob’s remix will be officially released to streaming services worldwide. Carrying on with the celebration of their recently released Greatest Hits album, The White Stripes’ have made Live at The 40 Watt available for download on Bandcamp until Dec. 20 at midnight CT. The 11-track collection, on Third Man Records, was recorded September 27, 1999, at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia. All Bandcamp proceeds will go to Fair Fight Action, a voter participation advocacy group that has been working to protect the rights of eligible voters in the Georgia runoff elections.
