Jakob Dylan, Locked and Loaded

“It’s daunting because you’re starting over every time,” says The Wallflowers’ Jakob Dylan. “You check in and ask yourself, ‘Am I ready to do this?’ It’s not a matter of success or not. It’s another record that I have to write and turn myself inside out for — and then, hopefully, make the record, and then talk about it and tour it.” Seated in the lobby of a Santa Monica hotel, the singer-songwriter is drinking an iced black coffee on a sweltering hot June day. The Wallflowers Release ‘Who’s That Man Walking ‘Round My Garden’ From Exit Wounds

With Exit Wounds (the band’s first album since 2012) due out on July 9 via New West Records, the Wallflowers just released the third song from the album ahead of their appearance on The Late, Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday (June 8). “Who’s That Man Walking ‘Round My Garden” sees Jakob Dylan’s momentum continue. Titled Exit Wounds, the record sees Dylan playing with a new group of musicians. “The Wallflowers is much of my life’s work,” Dylan said succinctly in a statement. The Wallflowers unveiled the first single, “Roots and Wings,” on Thursday night in an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The mid-tempo tune has a blend of Americana and rock.
