Lana Del Rey Performs on The Tonight Show in First TV Appearance in Eight Years

Lana Del Rey performed “Let Me Love You Like A Woman” for the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. But that wasn’t the most noteworthy element of her socially-distanced performance. The Tonight Show’s Twitter account wrote that the singer was “Making her first U.S. TV appearance in 9 years.” Though the math doesn’t technically check out (Del Rey performed on SNL in January 2012), it has been a long time since the singer-songwriter appeared since that critically-panned performance. As for the song itself, it had a full complement of back-up singers along with Del Rey’s band and was filmed on an old-timey bar-themed set. Check out Del Rey’s performance of “Let Me Love You Like a Woman on the Tonight Show below. [embedded content] “Let Me Love You Like A Woman,” will appear on D...

On Saturday night, Liam Gallagher will present a special concert livestream called “Down by the River Thames”. Set to take place atop a barge floating on the River Thames outside of London, the outdoor event will see the British rocker and his band roll out solo cuts as well as a number of Oasis classics, “some of which you haven’t heard me sing for a long, long time,” he promises. As a preview of this unique setup, Gallagher performed his new holiday single “All You’re Dreaming Of” from atop the barge for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night. Oasis have no doubt played in various venues and arenas all over the world, but I doubt Gallagher ever saw himself rocking out on such a contraption, socially distanced, and amidst a pandemic. All weird circumstances aside, the...

Tom Petty’s estate released the expanded Wildflowers box set last month, and they’ve been tapping artists to promote it in his place since the beloved late musician cannot. On Wednesday night, Sheryl Crow stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “You Don’t Know How It Feels” — and she did so with the help of three other Sheryl Crows. “You Don’t Know How It Feels” is one of those classic rock staples that hits you right in the heart. The original version of the classic 1994 single has plenty of swagger courtesy of a bluesy harmonica solo, a great guitar riff, and of course Petty’s empathetic chorus. Wildflowers & All The Rest includes a 2014 remastered version of the song as well as the original 8-track demo and a live version. In her take on the song, Crow essential...

Oneohtrix Point Never Performs “I Don’t Love Me Anymore” on Fallon: Watch

Oneohtrix Point Never made his television debut by delivering a psychedelic performance of “I Don’t Love Me Anymore” on Friday’s night episode of The Tonight Show. The track is a highlight from his new album Magic Oneohtrix Point Never. As has become custom in pandemic times, the performance looked like a cross between a late-night set and a music video. Daniel Lopatin and his bandmates played the song in front of a colorful backdrop of lush greenery and otherworldly lights, and Lopatin even donned a guitar in addition to his synth for this shoegazy tune. That part wasn’t out of the ordinary for live performances, but the set was interspersed with footage of bleak cityscapes and the lyrics of the song popped up on the screen as they would in a lyric video. The experimentation with the ...
