For the performance, the Canadian band rounded out their already layered sound by bringing out a small string section. From their various other late-night performances to their documentary, we know very well by now that IDLES know how to work a stage, whether it be a sweaty, scrappy punk venue or high up in the glossy studios of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Their earth-shattering riffs, combined with the flashing strobe lights behind them, matched their ferocious energy. Goose landed at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, December 7th with a performance of the title track from their latest album, Dripfield. The quintet appeared relaxed and loose making their Tonight Show debut. The 30 Rock stage was dressed for the holidays, and after Goose added some well-saturated purple and blue jam band lighting, the set was more than merry and bright. Check out “Dripfield” below. Taylor Swift will unveil her next album, Midnights, on October 21st, and come October 24th, she’ll sit down for a post-release interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, kicking off the host’s week of Fall-Star Favorites. Meghan Trainor will perform on the October 24th Tonight Show episode. On the 25th, Fallon will interview Sigourney Weaver, while Zedd and Maren Morris will perform. Smashing Pumpkins are set to release their new triple album, ATUM. In anticipation, the band appeared on The Tonight Show on Friday to perform lead single “Beguiled.” Watch the replay below. Billed as the sequel to 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/Machine of God, ATUM (pronounced “autumn”) will be unveiled over the course of three acts released 11 weeks apart. Act 1 will arrive on November 15th, with Act 2 following on January 31st and Act 3 coming on April 21st. A box set containing all three acts plus 10 additional bonus tracks will also be released on April 21st.
