Jordan Peele to Produce Remake of Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs

It’s barely been a year since Jordan Peele’s last movie, Us, hit theaters and shattered box office expectations. Now, he’s landed on his next project: a remake of Wes Craven’s horror satire The People Under the Stairs. According to Collider, Peele has signed on to produce a new version of the 1991 movie for Universal. Win Rosenfield will join him in the production department via their Monkeypaw Productions house. There’s no word yet if Peele will take the reins as the director for the remake or help write the script, but fingers crossed. The original version of The People Under the Stairs followed a young boy and two adult thieves as they break into a house to steal a rare coin collection, but wind up getting trapped inside.
