The Mandalorian

What’s Streaming on Disney+ in November 2020

Disney+ is looking to the stars across November. Whether they’re leaving our atmosphere with continuing episodes of The Right Stuff or absconding to a galaxy far, far away with The Mandalorian, The Mouse House clearly has no intentions of spending time in reality here on Earth. No kidding! Because if they’re not blasting off, they’re celebrating the art of imagination with docuseries such as Inside Pixar and Marvel’s 616 or putting up the holiday lights with the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. There are no shortage of escapes here. Nostalgics can also find solace in revisiting classics such as Disney’s A Christmas Carol and Mr. Magoo. Sadly, there isn’t much else being added to the back catalogue — perhaps they’re saving some titles for Christmas come December? We’ll see. Editors’ Pi...

The Mandalorian Returns With a Twist on Award-Winning Composer Ludwig Göransson’s Score

When Ludwig Göransson originally designed the theme and score for the first season of The Mandalorian, he wasn’t necessarily interested in keeping it traditionally “Star Wars-like.” Of course, the veteran composer and producer loves and respects the original music, but the Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy winner was more focused on capturing the magic and nostalgia that the most famous Star Wars tracks give off rather than simply recreating “The Imperial March” or the iconic main title theme. Needless to say, Göransson’s intergalactic Western vision worked, and The Mandalorian quickly became essential viewing and listening regardless of anyone’s feelings on previous Star Wars material. Having worked with a who’s who of music, film, and TV, Göransson’s expansions and twists on the music of The Manda...

LEGO Announces Baby Yoda Construction Set

The first season of The Mandalorian won over viewers’ hearts with its original spin on the Star Wars franchise, some unexpected cameos, and a creative set design. It also spawned one of the franchise’s most adorable and meme-able creatures yet: Baby Yoda. Technically named The Child, the infant member of Yoda’s same alien species is a sidekick staple on the TV show — and now fans can build one of their own thanks to LEGO’s new Baby Yoda construction set. This is the first time LEGO has created a Baby Yoda piece of work, and it’s clear they outdid themselves with the optics in the best way. Comprised of 1,073 pieces, “The Child Construction Set” allows fans to recreate The Mandalorian character in surprising detail, including a posable head, movable ears, and an adjustable mouth for differe...

What’s Coming to Disney+ in October 2020

Disney+ is doing their own thing for October 2020. The Mouse House is mostly opting out of spooky season for some truly out-of-this-world events. There’s the series premiere of The Right Stuff and the highly anticipated sophomore season of their Emmy-winning Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian. Beyond that, Disney+ is adding a few big titles to their catalogue, specifically Maleficent, X2: X-Men United, Mr. Holland’s Opus, and — watch out — Cheaper by the Dozen 2. They’re also getting the 31st season of The Simpsons. How about that. For those bummed out there are very little Halloween treats — including their dusty diamond-in-the-rough special Halloween Treats — it should be noted that they already have plenty of ghoulish content on the service. Yes, that means Halloweentown. Editors’ ...

Peep The Full Trailer For Disney+’s Second Season Of ‘The Mandalorian’

Source: Disney+ / Disney The first full trailer for the second season of Disney+’s Emmy nominated and fan captivating Star Wars spinoff series, The Mandalorian is here and best believe it’s got the Star Wars universe anxiously awaiting it’s October 30th stream date. Once again we find The Mandalorian rolling with Baby Yoda (it’s not actually Yoda as a baby) through a galaxy far, far away looking to deliver the baby to the Jedi, or as he refers to them, “enemy sorcerers.” But naturally every journey has it’s pitfalls as The Man ends up in getting chased by storm troopers, exploring the high seas, and getting into a shootout with, well, we’re not sure what alien race they are but their guns are out of this world. While we once again see Carl Weathers rolling out the welcome mat for The Man a...

Disney Plus Sets October 30th Premiere for The Mandalorian Season 2

Mark your calendars: Disney+ has set an October 30th premiere for Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau’s acclaimed Star Wars spinoff series starring Pedro Pascal and Baby Yoda. One of our most anticipated TV series of Fall 2020, the upcoming season will feature the addition of Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth (reportedly in the Boba Fett armor); Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker turned spymaster for the Rebel Alliance; and the return of Jengo Fett actor Temuera Morrison, only this time he’s playing Boba Fett. Robert Rodriguez is also said to be directing an episode. In our review, Consequence of Sound described The Mandalorian Season 1 as “the riskiest Star Wars expansion yet,” with writer Andrew Bloom specifically&nb...

‘The Mandalorian’ To Return To Disney+ This October

Source: Disney / Lucasfilm Great news Star Wars fanatics, Disney +’s new season of their hit Star Wars spinoff show, The Mandalorian is set to return a lot sooner than you think. Yesterday Disney’s official Twitter account brought joy and tears to Force followers when they announced that The Mandalorian has officially been set with a premier date of October 30th. Just in time to inspire all kinds of Yoda and Ahsoka Tano costumes for Halloween. Though no word on whether season 2 will follow it’s original format of weekly installments of new episodes or if it’ll be a binge-watching affair, best believe Star Wars fans will watch every last episode as soon as they’re available. Needless to say expectations are high given the first season was such a hit it garnered 15 Emmy nominations incl...

Mark Hamill Has a Secret Cameo in The Mandalorian as a Cantina Droid

Eagle-eyed Star Wars fans love to boast that they could spot Mark Hamill anywhere thanks to the wide range of voice and acting roles he’s accumulated over the years. That’s not always true though. The Luke Skywalker actor made his coolest secret cameo yet last year that nobody noticed: he was a droid in the fifth episode of The Mandalorian. During the finale of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, a behind-the-scenes docuseries about the making of the smash hit Disney Plus show, it was revealed that Hamill appeared in the series as the cantina bartender in Episode 5, reports Deadline. The droid — named EV-9D9, according to creator Jon Favreau — was uncredited and Hamill masked his voice for the role. In the scene, the Mandalorian walks into the cantina and approaches the bartender to ask about...

What’s Coming to Disney Plus in June 2020

Each month, Consequence of Sound rounds up a full list of new TV and film titles coming to Disney Plus. June 2020 is no exception and should add some much-needed Mouse House whimsy to your living room. The big addition is the worldwide premiere of Artemis Fowl. Directed by Kenneth Branagh and based on the 2001 novel-of-the-same-name, the film was originally intended for theaters before the world turned upside down. Viewers may also be intrigued to see the season finales for both Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and Be Our Chef. Meanwhile, nostalgics should find solace in revisiting both Schoolhouse Rock and Muppet Babies. Check out the entire list below. However, if you’re looking for more adult selections, you can check out what’s going down at Netflix and keep a look out for our guides on...

Timothy Olyphant Rumored to Be Playing Cobb Vanth in The Mandalorian Season 2

Last week, we learned that Timothy Olyphant had joined the cast of The Mandalorian Season 2. Now, Slash Film is reporting that Olyphant will be wearing Boba Fett’s armor, which, uh, doesn’t make a lot of sense, considering Temuera Morrison is playing Boba Fett. So what gives? The simple answer is that someone else had donned the bounty hunter’s protective garb before he wore it. And while that character’s identity hasn’t been confirmed, devoted Star Wars readers will already have someone in mind: Cobb Vanth, former slave, sheriff of the Tatooine city of Freetown, and one of the breakout minor players in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy of novels. There are a few clues pointing in Cobb Vanth’s direction. To start, the Aftermath books take place after the R...

Timothy Olyphant Joins The Mandalorian Season 2

The Force is strong with Timothy Olyphant. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadwood star has joined the Star Wars galaxy by signing on for the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. As of publication, there’s no word on who he’ll be playing, but given Olyphant’s hunky looks and trademark wit, we’re kind of, maybe, okay, we totally are, hoping he’s playing Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire. That may be wishful thinking, but seeing how we’re seeing Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, it’s not exactly out of the question. At the very least, it would connect that Star Wars legend. Whatever the case, Olymphant joins a stacked cast that also includes The Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn in an undisclosed role. We’ll also take Biehn as Renda...

Temuera Morrison, Actor who Played Jango Fett, Joins The Mandalorian as Boba Fett

It’s the worst kept secret in the galaxy, but Boba Fett did not die in that sarlacc pit. Now THR is reporting that the notorious bounty hunter will appear in The Mandalorian Season 2, and he’ll be played by a familiar face (helmet?): Temuera Morrison, who scowled his way through Attack of the Clones as Boba’s clone dad Jango Fett. At one point, Disney and Lucasfilm were developing a Boba Fett standalone movie, but that project got canned after Solo disappointed. It’s no surprise that they managed to work the fan-favorite character back into the timeline, and indeed, obsessive Star Wars fans will argue that Boba Fett has already returned. (Spoilers to follow, but then, you already clicked on an article with a spoiler right in the title, so don’t complain now.) ...
