In a blacked-out rehearsal space in North Hollywood, The Interrupters have the absolute necessities as they prepare to head to Europe to tour in support of their fourth album, In the Wild (out on Aug. 5 via Hellcat/Epitaph). A handful of guitars and basses hang in a road case against the wall. A stack of drumsticks is tucked away inside some cardboard remains. Some light snacks rest underneath a folding table. The Interrupters Announce In The Wild, Unveil ‘In the Mirror’
The Interrupters have a new album on the way. Titled In The Wild, it will be their fourth studio album and will be released on August 5 via Hellcat/Epitaph Records. The powers-that-be did their best to prevent this year’s Major League Baseball season from happening, but, alas, we’re back. By we, I mean the annual SPIN baseball preview. As usual, everyone (or almost everyone) is optimistic about their team’s chances in 2022. In 2021, a good chunk of the season was played with minimal fans in attendance, but things should be mostly back to normal this year. As I said last year about the season: Will it be weird? Probably. But aren’t they all? If it wasn’t a weird season with bizarre injuries, what kind of season would it be? Not baseball, Suzyn. Somehow, we almost doubled the number of participants from 62 to 105. We Interrupt This Programming for an Important Message
The Interrupters have a decade together and three albums under their belt and are a musical force. Aimee Interrupter and the Bivona brothers, Kevin, Justin, and Jesse, met in 2009 while on tour with Sugar Ray and Dirty Heads. Aimee was a solo act and The Bivona Brothers were then with The Transplants. Following the tour, Aimee and Kevin started writing together. Soon thereafter Kevin’s twin brothers were brought in to form the band that would eventually be The Interrupters. Oddly enough, The Interrupters’ name was created after Aimee met the Bivonas’ mother, and said, “Your mom is an interrupter, isn’t she?” Hopefully, that fence was mended!
