The Chemical Brothers Return With ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ Single

Reemerging from a two-year hiatus, award-winning electronic duo The Chemical Brothers are back with a new single, “The Darkness That You Fear.” It may be a somber-sounding title but the song is anything but. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, the individuals behind this operation, take two distinct and disco-esque vocal samples and layer them on top of a swirl of psychedelic sound to create the uplifting rush of music heard below. In a press release, Rowlands comments, “‘The Darkness That You Fear’ is a hopeful piece of music. Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a number of large-scale music festivals are looking to the future through rose-colored glasses. One of those is Polish music fest Open’er, who have announced the first phase of performers for its 2021 event. The event’s 2020 iteration was shelved back in April 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 after initially being slated for July 1st through 4th this year. Electronic Music Exhibit Featuring Kraftwerk Set to Open with Enhanced Speaker System

The Design Museum in London is making new investments into its sound system to support the museum’s electronic music exhibit, which is set to open at the end of this month. The exhibit, titled “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers,” was originally scheduled to launch in April, but was postponed due to mandatory closures following the onset of COVID-19. Ahead of its reopening, the museum will be installing a PMC 7.1 surround system based on the company’s result6 monitors, which is sure to simulate the experience of a live electronic music show.
