Earlier this year, the organizers of Ottawa’s renowned Escapade music festival decided that the event’s rescheduled dates in mid-June 2021 were too soon to host a safe event, thus determining a fall postponement would be the best course of action. Initially, the newly slated dates were September 3rd to 5th, offering a three-day experience. However, due to “ongoing changes and COVID restrictions,” Escapade ultimately scrapped its Friday launch and pushed it one day, truncating the fest to just September 4th and 5th. Despite the change, there is still much to celebrate for fans of Escapade thanks to its massive lineup. While the full bill is yet to be released, so far it includes The Chainsmokers, ILLENIUM, Jauz, and Claude Vonstroke, among others. You...

The startup provides home contractors the ability to extend consumer financing options to prospective customers. Hearth allows contractors to pre-qualify customers for loans within minutes, enabling them to invoice, track, and collect payments within the company’s mobile app. According to Hearth, around 80% of home improvement services have traditionally been paid in cash, but the company is betting more available personal financing options will allow contractors to secure more business. CultureMap Austin reports the Grammy-winning “Closer” artists contributed $23 million to the company. It may seem l...

Last week, the Wynn Las Vegas made it clear they are amping up for a massive return to form with an unmissable residency lineup featuring several of dance music’s biggest names. As if last week’s news wasn’t enough to send fans into a frenzy, the company is throwing a little more fuel on the fire—diesel fuel to be precise. That’s right, the luxury resort, home to both XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club, has announced dance music’s resident NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, or DJ Diesel, will be joining the action all summer long. The “Bang” producer was previously a resident DJ at the resort in 2019. DJ Diesel will be a welcome addition to the superstar lineup, which already commands tremendous star power with The Chainsmokers, David Guetta...

Summer Sonic organizers recently announced its second iteration of “Summer Sonic Highlights,” which broadcasts past performances from the festival. This time around, they will air shows from a slew of electronic music superstars, including Zedd, Calvin Harris...
In a rare, mid-hiatus interview, The Chainsmokers let fans in on what they’ve been up to during lockdown, shared stories about performances they deemed embarrassing, got personal with how they react to criticism, and much more. The lengthy talk was hosted by Will Briger for his 1 Hour Intern podcast. Not afraid to get personal and share uncomfortable moments in their career, the duo—comprised of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart—waxed poetic about a number of topics and happenings from their wildly successful careers, including their infamous American Idol performance that they say made them look like “goddamn idiots.” It’s rare to see artists be so candid, but a refreshing look at what goes on behind the scenes with one of the dance-pop world’s ...
