Summer Walker is on peak form. In July, the Atlanta, Georgia singer and songwriter scored her second No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, as Life On Earth debuted at the summit. She achieved the same feat last October with her debut studio album Over It. On Monday night (Sept. 14), Walker strolled into the lineup of The Tonight Show for a remote performance of “Body,” lifted from 2019’s Over It. Performing with her band before a room filled with flowers, Walker’s musical vision is a horticulturalist’s dream. Watch below. ViacomCBS has struck a deal to sell its CNET unit to Red Ventures for $500 million. The transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020, is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. CBS acquired CNET, which offers consumer electronics product reviews and news, in 2008 for $1.8 billion. Since the recombination of Viacom and CBS, the new ViacomCBS has been selling off non-core assets to reduce debt and free up financial fire power for expansions in the streaming space and other core businesses. The company, led by CEO Bob Bakish, also has put on the auction block CBS’ longtime Manhattan headquarters Black Rock and book publisher Simon & Schuster. “Red Ventures believes in the power of premium content from trusted brands that help ...

Now this is the story all about how you can become the prince of Bel Air. Well, at least for a night. On Sunday (Sept. 13), Will Smith shared the news that he’s working with Airbnb to put the iconic home from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air up on the platform as a vacation rental for just five nights to celebrate the beloved sitcom’s 30th anniversary. “YOOOO!! Y’all think we should rent out the @freshprince house?? We’re making it happen with the squad at @airbnb!! #FreshPrince30th,” the star captioned a selfie with bestie and former co-star DJ Jazzy Jeff posing outside the mansion, which is actually located in neighboring Brentwood. Smith added even more charm and detail in the Airbnb listing for the property, writing, “Ready for the freshest staycation ever...
Now, this is a story all about how our lives got flipped turned right-side-up ever since Will Smith posted a pair of heartfelt reunion photos from the 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which included the original Aunt Viv. The main actor shared some snapshots from the original set of the Banks mansion with his former co-stars Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz). Miley Cyrus owned Thursday night’s (Sept. 10) Tonight Show, performing two entrancing songs and chatting with host Jimmy Fallon from her eye-popping, colorful Peter Shire-designed “throne” (named “Giza”), while wearing a sharp-shouldered, multi-colored jumpsuit that would have made David Bowie jealous. When Fallon asked about the sly “Edge of Seventeen” sample in Miley’s “Midnight Sky” single, Cyrus, of course, had an amazing story about how she sent Stevie Nicks the song and asked for her blessing to use the snippet of the Fleetwood Mac singer’s 1981 solo hit. “I said, ‘I have an alternate melody if you don’t want to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me,'...

Kenny Ortega’s Netflix tween musical follows a grief-stricken high schooler who joins an all-ghost rock band. I am just old enough for High School Musical to have been a threat to my personal dignity. Kenny Ortega’s kiddie megafranchise, which debuted January 2006, juggernauted into cultural relevance just as I turned 17 — frankly, only three years after Disney Channel ceased being the white noise of my everyday existence. I saw vulgarity in HSM‘s plastic funk and robotic pop, its earnest romance and “follow your dreams” hamminess. You see, I was far too mature and alternative for HSM‘s chintzy charms. I recall eye-rolling aplenty while babysitting my little cousins the summer before freshman year of college, bravely enduring the film’s ubiquitous ...
TBS is adding a talent competition to its roster — and it’s not looking for the next great singer or comedian. The cable outlet has ordered 10 episodes of Go-Big Show, which will feature “supersized talents” including monster truck drivers, alligator trainers and stunt archers, among others. The show has begun production in Macon, Georgia; host Bert Kreischer and judges Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles and Cody Rhodes announced the series Wednesday night in a promo that aired across TBS and sister networks TNT and TruTV. “Go-Big Show celebrates unique, untraditional and unforgettable American talent,” said Corie Henson, executive vp and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and TruTV. “Each contestant brings tremendous heart and swagger...
