That’s not all. She co-produced, co-wrote and stars in the mockumentary The Nowhere Inn, and, naturally, she recorded the original soundtrack. The news was announced on Monday (September 20) through ESPN’s PR department. The new show will be called NBA Today, and it will replace The Jump beginning on October 18. The Jump is currently featuring a rotating crew of hosts after Nichols became embroiled in controversy over a leaked phone conversation where she questioned the merit of now NBC Sports anchor and host, Maria Taylor, as a “diversity hire.” She would be later demoted from hosting The Jump and ESPN’s coverage of the 2021 NBA Finals. The Jump’s last...

Maurice Fayne of ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’ Sentenced In Ponzi Scheme

“Fayne planned to use the PPP program as a cover for his long-running Ponzi scheme,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Kurt R. Erskine in a news release Wednesday. “The funds the program supplies serve as a lifeline to many businesses desperately trying to stay afloat during the pandemic, and unfortunately his fraud helped deplete those precious dollars.” Erskine said from March 2013 through May 2020, Fayne ran a multistate Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than 20 people who invested in his trucking business. Instead of using investors’ money to operate the business, he used the funds to pay personal debts and expenses and to fund an extravagant lifestyle, Erskine said. During the scheme, Fayne spent more than $5 million at a casino in Oklahoma, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District...

Jojo Siwa ‘Crushes’ Jimmy Fallon In Dance-Off: Watch

When faced with a slow number, Siwa lifted it a notch. Fallon was beat. “Every time you come on the show, we do a little dance off. And you always crush me,” Fallon said afterwards. “I just got my breath,” he continued. “The audience knows, but during the commercial break they came out with an oxygen tank. And it was sad.” For Siwa, it was a neat warmup for the real thing. She’ll participate on Dancing With the Stars, starting Monday (her partner in the series is female. They’re the first same-sex coupling on DWTS, apparently), a tour is set to begin in January, and her musical film The J Team is new to Paramount+. There’s no update, however, on whether she’ll be allowed to perform J Team numbers on her tour. Watch Siwa and Fallon’s dance-off and interview below. You Dese...

Nicki Minaj Vaccine Claims Rejected by Trinidad & Tobago Health Minister

Minaj later added that she’d “def recommend” others get the vaccine before encouraging people to “wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.” But the story of the swollen testicles set off a string of criticisms, including from MSNBC’s Joy-Ann Reid, who blasted the singer’s comments on her show, The ReidOut. “People like Nicki Minaj, I have to say this: You have a platform sister. That is 22 million followers. OK? I have 2 million followers. You have 22 million followers on Twitter. For you to use your platform to encourage our community to not protect themselves and save their lives. My God, sister. You could do better than that,” Reid said. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert followed Reid’s lead, remixing the artist’s hit “Super Bass” into a parody,...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Kevin Winter / Getty Esteemed actor Courtney B. Vance took some time out to pay tribute to his Lovecraft Country co-star Michael K. Williams while accepting an Emmy, and he also had pointed criticism over the series not being brought back as well. Vance received his award this past Sunday (September 12th) for his role as George Freeman at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony for the smash HBO horror/sci-fi series and paid homage to Williams, who died on September 6th in his acceptance speech after thanking show creator Misha Green, his family, and other co-stars. “Finally to Michael K. Williams,” he began. “Misha said it best. Michael did everything with his full heart open, with his infinite spirit, and with way too much style. May he rest in...

It was announced earlier this year that the lead role in Bel-Air, which will stream on Peacock, will be an actor whose real-life last name is ironically Banks, Jabari Banks, and on Tuesday, the rest of the main cast was announced via Peacock’s...
