Foo Fighters to Play on Saturday Night Live This Weekend, Tease New Music

Foo Fighters have been announced as the musical guest for this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live (November 7th) alongside host Dave Chappelle. And by the looks of it, Dave Grohl and co. will be bringing along some new music. Over the last few days, fans have spotted Foo Fighters’ logo projected alongside the letter “X” (the Roman numeral for 10) at various locations in Los Angeles. The projections are accompanied by a short video of a coffin on fire. Similar imagery has also popped up on Spotify. Gorillaz Perform “Aries” on Kimmel: Watch

Long before the outbreak, Gorillaz launched Song Machine, an ongoing audiovisual series featuring new music. The animated band led by Damon Albarn has since forged ahead by releasing singles each month, and on Tuesday, Gorillaz showcased one of them on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  For the remotely broadcast TV performance, Albarn teamed up with 2-D to play Gorillaz’s latest single, “Aries”. Sheryl Crow appeared remotely on Tuesday night’s episode of Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform a cover of George Harrison’s “Beware of Darkness”. In introducing the song, Crow called Harrison “one of my favorite artists of all time”. Watch her brilliant piano performance below. “Beware of Darkness” originally appeared on Harrison’s 1970 album, All Things Must Pass, and Crow recently released a recorded version of the song as part of her latest album, 2019’s Threads.
