If you saw my weekly screen time report, you’d probably assume I have an addiction to TikTok. And you’d be right. Scrolling through my For You Page on the app is one of my favourite pastimes, and today, I’m putting all that research (yes, I’m calling it research) to good use and reporting on the biggest TikTok swimwear trends that are already emerging for summer 2022. The weather may only just be starting to heat up, but the app’s most stylish creators are already pulling out their best swimwear looks. With summer on the brain and the promise of beach and pool days within reach, I’ve rounded up the top seven swimwear and cover-up trends I’ve seen bubbling up as of late, and of course, I am...
Unlike our contemporaries who live in warmer climates year-round, our window for bikini wearing is significantly smaller—usually two weeks in the height of summer when we jet off somewhere. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t (and don’t) make the most of this opportunity when it presents itself. Arguably, we Brits might give our swimwear even more consideration, as our time in them is significantly shorter but, my, so sweet. Putting one-pieces to the side for a second, let’s concentrate on bikinis—specially the bikini trends 2022 has to offer. There can be a drastic shift between bikini trends year on year; for example, last year’s obsession with the ’90s high-leg silhouette seems to have quietened somewhat. So which bikini styles feel fresh for summer 2022? Th...
When it comes to being at sea, whether that’s frolicking in the ocean or riding shotgun on a sailboat, French women do it with a certain je ne sais quoi. They have acquired taste when it comes to swimwear and resortwear. French swimwear is unmatched. Perhaps it’s down to living on the periphery of the ocean and spending summers by the Riviera. The wide span of coastline calls for a working swim wardrobe for trips to the beach at a moment’s notice. We’re likely in unanimity about how distinguishable their swimwear offerings are, as there’s been a growth in the popularity of French swimwear labels such as Eres. The brand has been producing swimsuits for over 50 years, with the essence of simplicity and timelessness at its core. French brands such as Sézane and Rouje are f...
Right about now, beach pics are probably creeping up on your feed, which can only mean one thing—it’s finally time to think about swimwear. It’s been a long time coming, but swimsuit season has fully commenced, and with it are a plethora of options to consider. As much as I adore a good one-piece (it’s a classic for a reason), today, I’m strictly addressing the bikini fan club. A lot of swim brands exist out there, but I’ve narrowed it down to the suits that dazzle above the rest. And whether you’re a minimalist, a “more is more” kind of person, or a hard-core follower of trends, the selection below has every type of bikini to hit almost every aesthetic. All that’s left is figuring out your ride to the nearest beach. ...
If ever there was a swimwear season for travel restrictions to be reduced and our suitcases to reflect the excitement, it is this year—2022’s swimwear trends are ready to go. I am a self-confessed swimwear obsessive and after over a decade as a buying director for my own swimwear business, I’m always on the lookout for the next big designers and trends. I’m always asked why I love swimwear so much, and to be honest it just kind of happened. I have so many beautiful memories of dreamy summers spent on the beach with my family in Puglia growing up so for me swimwear is synonymous with being happy and having fun—I always felt my most confident in the sun and that was mostly down to the swimwear I picked up on shopping trips with my mother. Then there’s the fact a bi...
There are a few things I do every time I lie by the pool or go to the beach (after vigorously applying sunscreen): scrunch up my bikini bottoms to minimise tan lines, grip said bikini bottoms with both hands when exiting bodies of water such as the pool and ocean to prevent slippage, and take Instagram photos from very low angles to make my legs look as long as possible. While there seems to be little that can be done about the slightly reddish hue my skin takes on despite the copious amount of SPF I apply, this season’s most popular bikini trend solves all the remaining warm-weather challenges I’ve encountered. Hide your low-rise and hipster bottoms because high-leg bikinis are back from the ’80s, and they’re here to fit comfortably and accentuate your legs. T...
If I were to write a short list of clothing items that scare me, somewhere after super-tight dresses and before uncomfortable shoes and white jeans, you’d find white swimsuits. I don’t particularly love wearing swimsuits in the first place (but buy them anyway), so if you take a category that already makes me uncomfortable and choose a white, nowhere-to-hide iteration, I’m downright petrified. It’s kind of how my co-worker Maxine feels about another popular swim trend. Nonetheless, you can imagine my confusion when I suddenly noticed how many of my favourites suits were actually white. Maybe seeing so many of them (after all, they are having a moment) helped, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t end up ordering a couple while...

Let’s just skip spring and head straight into summer, shall we? Because unless you’re taking a long Easter holiday—and if that’s the case, I’m jealous—then the real fun comes when the beach is warm enough for minidresses, denim shorts and, of course, swimsuits. Looking ahead to the sunny season, I found a handful of celeb-approved trends that are sure to be popular come June. For example, since the cut-out trend shows no signs of slowing down, it’s no surprise that it also translates into swimwear. Dua Lipa recently Instagrammed her one-piece swimsuit with a cutout at the waist, so I found plenty of similar options for you to choose from. Scroll down to shop 2022 swimsuit trends inspired by Hailey Bieber, Camila Cabello, Ciara and more. Y...

There’s a frustration here in the UK that there aren’t enough plus-size brands available, especially when it comes to more specialised categories like swimwear. Compared with the US, it seems that we Brits haven’t always had as good a range available, but things are beginning to change. Not only can you get plus-size brands shipped over from the States, but there are also (finally) more cool brands available in the UK. ASOS Curve has led the charge for some time now, and its bikinis and one-pieces are genuinely great. But thanks to the online retailer stocking plenty of other plus-size brands, there are even more options for you to consider. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online.
