Whether they go with the dog's original origin story remains to be seen, but we're definitely looking forward to see how Gunn incorporates Supes having a super pet for the first time on the silver screen.

Nothing is more American than Superman, which is why Congressman Robert Garcia chose the very first Clark Kent comic book to be with him when he is sworn into office. Garcia — a Peruvian immigrant, former Mayor of Long Beach, California, and self-proclaimed “comic book nerd” — was elected US Representative for California’s 42nd congressional district during the 2022 midterms. Ahead of his official induction into the role, he tweeted a photo of three items he’d selected to sit under the Constitution while he was sworn in: “A photo of my parents who I lost to covid, my citizenship certificate & an original Superman #1 from the @librarycongress.” (It’s worth noting that the issue archived at the Library of Congress is a reprint, but it’s still worth several hundred thousands dollars. But his latest decision might very well alienate a sizable portion of the DC fanbase as he’s taken away something they’ve been ecstatic about for a hot minute. Just weeks after announcing that he would be returning to the big screen as Superman and exciting his day-one fans, Henry Cavill took to Instagram yesterday to reveal that he will no longer be suiting up in the red and blue as he doesn’t fit into James Gunn’s vision of the future of the DCEU. Just the latest reminder that life just isn’t fair sometimes. In a heartfelt Instagram post yesterday, Cavill confirmed that he was ...

Despite announcing his return as Superman in October, Henry Cavill has revealed that he will no longer reprise his role as the hero. Instead, new DCEU head James Gunn is moving forward with a new film focusing on a younger version of the character that he himself is writing. “After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life,” Cavill said in an Instagram post on Wednesday night. “This changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter [Safran] have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.” Gunn also confirmed Cavill’s exit on Twitter. “In the initial stages” of the film, he explained, “our story wi...
DC Comics is making a bunch of changes to Superman that are sure to have certain snowflakes in a tizzy. Not only did they recently announce that the current Superman, Jon Kent, is bisexual, they’ve now removed the “American Way” part of Supes’ classic motto, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” Going forward, Superman will be fighting for “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.” The rephrasing was announced during the DC FanDome event by DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee. “To better reflect the storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor Superman’s incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world, Superman’s motto is evolving,” Lee stated. “Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that powers him f...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: DC / DC Comics Yesterday (October 11), it was National Coming Out Day and to give their LGTBQ fans something to celebrate, DC Comics revealed that the new Superman, Jon Kent, would be coming out as bisexual. Jon Gruden’s going to blow a gasket over this one. Expect ex-Superman turned woke culture hater, Dean Cain to take issue with this as well. IGN is reporting that DC will be adding an entirely new dynamic to Superman’s upcoming adventures as the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane will be revealing that he’s out loud and proud in the upcoming 5th issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El. In the issue the 17-year-old who’s coming to terms with many things about himself will make peace with the fact that he likes men too and will apparently find his ride-or-die in J...
It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s Michael B. Jordan! According to a new report, the actor is planning to develop his own Superman project with HBO Max. Collider reported the news earlier on Friday that Jordan’s project will be separate from the upcoming Superman movie starring a Black Clark Kent, which is being executive produced by J.J. Abrams. While Jordan was rumored to be putting on Superman’s cape for that movie — the script for which is being penned by Ta-Nehesi Coates — the Creed actor brushed off the speculation at the time, saying, “I’m flattered that people have me in that conversation. It’s definitely a compliment, but I’m just watching on this one.” Instead, his new rendition with the streamer will reportedly focus on the Val-Zod version of the character in a limited series format...
