Sunset Music Festival, now in its 11th year, has become a yearly staple for Tampa ravers. And this year’s lineup does not disappoint in the slightest. Prospective attendees are safe to expect a variety of electronic sounds and sub-genres at Sunset 2023, from house and techno to trance and bass, and everything in between. This year’s lineup, the first phase of which was recently revealed, features Chris Lake, Adventure Club, SLANDER, Zomboy, Habstrakt, Wax Motif, Westend and more. Organizers have now announced the second phase of artists for the 2022 festival, which is scheduled for May 27-29 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. This past weekend Sunset Music Festival came back to life as the first normalized fest to return in Florida after the pandemic, an emotional billet-doux straight to the heart of fans. Based in the bustling cultural hub of Tampa, Florida, the two-day festival took place on May 29th and 30th, hosting 64,000 fans and 74 different artists from around the country. With the city quickly filling up with patrons for the festival, SMF kicked the weekend off with a sold-out pre-party. SLANDER returned to the festival circuit with a triumphant DJ set at Tampa’s Sunset Music Festival over the weekend. And while their performance—rife with soaring future bass and dubstep—was one of the event’s highlights, it was a different drop that sent ripples through the EDM community.
