Delta assemblyman Kenneth Ogba passes on
The member representing Isoko South Constituency 1, in the Delta State House of Assembly, Kenneth Ogba, is dead. His death is coming barely six months after the former Majority Leader of the Delta Assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere, died in Asaba. It was gathered that Ogba died on Sunday evening, at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State, after attending a function in the area in the afternoon. The lawmaker was said to have been rushed to a hospital in the town where doctors pronounced him dead. Sources had it that the deceased died of unspecified heart-related disease. Centre decries burning of INEC offices
The Centre for Transparency Advocacy has decried the incessant cases of burning of offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission across the nation, describing it as a dangerous trend which could impede the process of organizing the November 6, Anambra State governorship election. Gunmen burn INEC office, attack police station in Anambra
The Police in Anambra State have confirmed attacks on the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission and Police B’Division in Awka, the State capital on Sunday night. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident said he had scanty information on the development. He said, “Please, I will get back to you as soon as I get the full details.” Gunmen had around 9pm on Sunday invaded B Division Police Station and the INEC office in Awka. Rainstorm destroys houses, properties in Plateau communities
More than 50 houses and other properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed by rainstorm in communities in Qua’an pan Local Government Area of Plateau State. Residents said the rainstorm, which started Sunday night and lasted till the early hours of Monday, was accompanied by a heavy windstorm that blew off roofs of several houses and rendered many families homeless.
