Uber has laid off about 185 Postmates workers, and plans to further integrate Postmates’ infrastructure within its Uber Eats segment, The New York Times reported. Uber acquired Postmates in July for $2.65 billion, following a failed attempt to buy rival food delivery service Grubhub. Meal delivery has been one bright spot for Uber amid the pandemic, as bookings in its Uber Eats division rose 135 percent year-over-year in the third quarter while its ride-hailing segment dropped 50 percent over the same time period. It’s consolidated other parts of the company in a bid to become profitable by the end of 2021, selling its autonomous vehicles segment to Aurora Innovation in December, the same month it sold its Uber Elevate flying taxi division to Joby Aviation. The latest cuts will see Postmat...
The value of Club Brugge winger Emmanuel Dennis on the transfer market has crashed from 16 million to 11 million Euros within five months. According to transfermarkt, Dennis was valued at 16 million Euros in August 2020. However, this price tag has tumbled to 11 million Euros now. This crash could well be blamed on the many controversies involving the player as well as his limited appearances for champions Club Brugge this season. His Belgian club had hoped to sell him for between 20 and 25 million Euros last summer. However, none of his interested suitors could match that asking price. The player himself revealed a transfer to Premier League club West Bromwich Albion fell through after he was not granted a work permit. Ajax and Netherlands legend Ronald de Boer has advised Donny Van De Beek to leave Manchester United in this January transfer window. Van De Beek has struggled for game time since his £39million move from Ajax. The 23-year-old has started just two Premier League games this season and has been completely left out the squad for United’s last three fixtures. And De Boer thinks the Holland international should consider leaving with the Euros coming up this summer. He told AD: “The European Championship is coming, he will undoubtedly want to be there. “Maybe it would be good for him to discuss with the club exactly what they want with him. “If the view on playing time does not improve, he may have to declare that he should be loaned or even sold. “You have to be lucky every now and then. Of cour...
