Fake It Flowers is the forthcoming debut album from rising indie rocker beabadoobee, due out next month via Dirty Hit. One of the most anticipated of 2020, it’s been teased thus far with the brooding “Sorry” and Song of the Week “Care”. As a third preview, she’s now sharing a track titled “Worth It”. Additionally, beabadoobee has announced 2021 tour dates in the UK. On this new crunchy, grunge-inspired offering, the Filipino-British artist attempts to shake off the ghosts of a past relationship that have been distracting her from fully living in the present. The single reminds us of both the importance of letting our old traumas heal and the value in the here and now. In a statement, the musician also known as Bea Kristi says the track is “simply about teenage infidelity and the mistakes o...
Anyone else’s year been so crazy they forgot Alanis Morissette dropped a really excellent new album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road? Well, as a much needed reminder that there has been some good in 2020, the Canadian-American icon has celebrated the LP with a new contribution to the Spotify Singles series. Although the standard practice for the series is for artists to reinterpret one song from their catalog and cover someone else’s, Morissette decided to tackle two of her own tracks. First is “Reasons I Drink”, the lead single from Such Pretty Forks, which is given a very faithful yet stripped back reworking. It’s somewhat bolder and grittier here, even as it’s driven by an acoustic guitar. Morissette’s new imagining of the classic “You Oughta Know”, as might be expected, is the real highl...

Every August for the last three years, Oh Sees have released a new album: Orc in 2017, Smote Reverser in 2018, and last year’s Face Stabber. Like everything in 2020, it looks like the John Dwyer-led band’s next effort will be arriving a little later than anticipated this year. Taking on the moniker OSees, the prolific garage rockers have today announced a new album, Protean Threat, set for a September 18th release via Castle Face Records. Described as “the apogee of scuzz,” Protean Threat is a 13-track collection calling to “abate hate” with a “club” of love. A typically aureate press release says the songs are meant as a rally cry to “stand up and be vigilant” against “the planet-killers.” The statement goes on, “TRUTH WILL NOT BE FOUND IN THE SPEECHES AND PHOTO OPS OF...

Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer have just announced the rescheduled dates of their joint stadium tour for later this fall and into summer 2021.
