StubHub Clears Final Hurdle of Viagogo Merger With Sale of Non-U.S. Assets

The sale ends a period of government-imposed silence between the two firms, which were allowed to communicate while the agreement worked its ways through the U.K. regulator system. “We are finally allowed to collaborate and begin planning the integration between the two companies,” says Jill Krimmel, StubHub’s interim president who said she will stay on as president once the integration is complete. That process couldn’t begin until the sale of StubHub’s international business was completed. It’s unclear how much Digital Fuel Capital paid for the international assets, which include 23 companies and limited liability corporations held by StubHub including its branded marketplaces in the U.K., Germany, Taiwan and parts of Europe through its Luxembourg ...

The veteran industrial band will have a significantly different look the next time they hit the road, having recently announced a drummer change, as well. In January 2020, an investigative report by Spin told the stories of two women, one named Kelly Longoria and another who chose to remain unidentified. Longoria maintained that she met Quirin (then a member of the industrial band Society 1) in 2002 when she was 15 years old, and that the two had sex several times while she was still a...

Classically trained in piano and harp, her music possesses an orchestral quality paired with a kaleidoscopic groove. Her new single is a prime example of how she expertly blends her professional training into tried-and-true pop structures for a fresh new...

Rammstein Endorse Potential Lego Set of Their Massive Stadium Stage

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-04-23T20:06:03+00:00“>April 23, 2021 | 4:06pm ET A Rammstein fan with a lot of time and creativity on his hands has designed a Lego set based on the band’s massive stadium stage, and he has the industrial metal outfit’s seal of approval. The design is competing for consideration as part of the Lego Ideas initiative, with Rammstein urging their fans to vote on the project. It’s not the first time a notable music act’s stage setup has been in consideration for a Lego set.  Last year, we reported on an entrant who submitted a design for an elaborate Tool stage, complete with awesome figurines of the band’s four members. Another contender presented a similar idea for Daft Punk. Whi...

Alanis Morissette Covers John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”: Stream

Thanksgiving was yesterday, which means Christmas season has officially begun. Alanis Morissette is already getting into the holiday spirit by sharing her own cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s classic “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”. “It is an honor to cover this heartwarming song,” said Morissette in a statement. “The lyrics feel more pertinent than ever and this year has been a year of great resilience and adapting and feeling all the feelings. May this song serve as a big hug to you and your sweet families and friends. Kevin Parker Is All of Tame Impala in “Why Won’t They Talk to Me?” Performance Video: Watch

Because of the size and sound of the project, it’s easy to think of Tame Impala as a full band. But really, all of that music stems from the “group’s” mastermind, Kevin Parker. The Australian artist reminds us of this in a new performance video for the Lonerism cut “Why Won’t They Talk to Me?” Filmed for the Adobe MAX creative conference by frequent collaborator Alex Haygarth, the clip finds Parker playing every instrument and even singing backup vocals — all three harmonies. Haygarth shot the thing in an empty floor space, with Parker setting up different instruments in different sections of the room. Using some nifty editing techniques, it ends up looking like the musician really cloned himself to fill out all of Tame Impala’s ranks. Check out the creative performance below. Editors̵...

Tame Impala Perform “Elephant”, “Is It True” in an Empty Soccer Stadium: Watch

After months of live music lockdown, artists are finally stepping outside of their homes and returning to venues. HAIM just played at The Forum, and Trey Anastasio has a Beacon Theatre residency coming up. Sure, HAIM’s performance took place in The Forum’s parking lot and Anastasio’s virtual residency will be audience-free, but the point is the venues aren’t vacant anymore. Now, Tame Impala have joined their ranks and staged their own physical performance in the outside world, as they recently took over a soccer stadium for a two-song set. Kevin Parker and his pared down three-piece version of Tame Impala set up in the center of the pitch at HBF Park in Perth, Australia. They delivered the Lonerism favorite “Elephant” and “Is It True” off their latest full-length, Febru...
