StockX Accuses Nike Of Withholding “Backdooring” Info In Their Ongoing Legal Battle

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: StockX / StockX Months after Nike put StockX on blast and accused the brand of selling them fake Nikes and Jordans, StockX is clapping back at the Swoosh and accusing it of acting shady around their legal requirements. Nice Kicks is reporting that StockX has sent a letter to the judge overseeing their lawsuit with Nike and alleges that Nike hasn’t complied with their requests to provide documents in the discovery portion of the case. Meanwhile, Nike also claims that StockX is withholding documents of their own in the process including 427 requests for admission “RFAs.” Looks like both sides aren’t too comfortable giving up all the documents requested thus far. Why is anyone’s guess at this point. Related Stories Still, looking to salvage whatever’s left o...

StockX Said To Be Laying Off More Of Their Employees

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Cody Glenn / Getty Things haven’t been going to well for StockX in 2022, and now it’s been reported that the company will be laying off more of their workforce as they look to tighten up their belt to close out the year. According to Nice Kicks, StockX will be undergoing another round of layoffs just months after they let 8% of their workforce go as well. As to why StockX is letting more people go, that’s anyone guess. Their reputation took a huge hit when Nike accused them of selling them fake Nikes and Jordans as everyday customers have been complaining online about waiting weeks for sneakers they purchased on their website. Still, StockX released a statement somewhat explaining their latest move. “Our business is multifaceted and continues to evolve, a...

eBay & StockX To Raise Fees On Sneaker Resellers

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: eBay / eBay In just one day both eBay and StockX shocked sneaker resellers when both announced that they’d be raising fees on sneakers sold through their services. According to Nice Kicks, eBay has decided they’d be raising the fees to 12.9% on sneakers sold between the prices of $100-$150 for sellers without their Basic Store subscription and 12% for those who actually have their subscription. You’d think with the way sneakers are sitting and the resale game isn’t what it was just last year, eBay would lower fees to entice more resellers to put up product for sale. Related Stories In the same Tweet, eBay states that it will be providing shipping labels for sellers and buyers will be charged a flat rate of $14.95. The company will provide loss and da...

StockX Stops Sales Of Allegedly Stolen Jordans From The Memphis Jux

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: StockX / StockX Last week’s brazen robbery of $800,000 worth of Air Jordan and Nikes from storage trailers in Memphis, Tennessee sent shockwaves through the sneaker community and now StockX is taking a stand against the thieves using their website to get off the hot product. NiceKicks is reporting that StockX has decided to pull the plug on sneakers they feel might be connected to the Memphis robbery as they probably should’ve done from the get-go. These sneakers include the “Cherry” Air Jordan 11’s, “Chrome” Air Jordan 6’s and “Navy Blue” Air Jordan 4’s. Being that these particular sneakers haven’t been released yet, it makes it easier to spot the stolen merchandise if it’s coming from somewhere in Memphis. StockX released a statement to Nice Kicks on th...

Sneaker Recession?: StockX Lays Off 8% Of Its Workforce

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: StockX / StockX A few weeks after the Swoosh pulled StockX’s Fugazi card and accused them of selling them counterfeit Nikes and Jordans, StockX has announced that it laid off quite a few of its employees. According to NiceKicks, StockX had to give the pink slip to roughly 8% of their workforce citing the spiraling economy as the primary reasons for the layoffs, not because they’re the ones who authenticated the alleged bootleg Nike sneakers. Employees that were given their walking papers stemmed from various departments such as marketing, customer service, operations, engineering, and editorial. You’d think one “authenticator” would’ve gotten the boot in the process (namely whoever authenticated the kicks sold to Nike), but whatever. Related Stories While...

StockX Responds To Nike’s Bootleg Claims, Says Nike’s Allegations Lack Merit

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: StockX / StockX A few weeks ago Nike roasted whatever credibility StockX had when they filed a lawsuit again StockX alleging that they sold bootleg sneakers to Nike employees buying sneakers from them undercover. Now StockX is clapping back at the sneaker giant and according to NiceKicks, they’ve taken to their website to try to reassure customers that they do their diligence whenever authenticating a pair of grails. Going directly at Nike for the allegations they levied against the reselling website, StockX explains that they’ve invested massive amounts of money to ensure that their customers only get the best kind of service and authentic footwear. Nike Claims StockX Sold Them Four Bootleg Pairs Of Sneakers In Latest Court Filing

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Jordan Brand / Jordan Brand UPDATE: StockX has responded. A few months ago Nike got into a legal tussle with sneaker reselling website StockX when they slapped them with a lawsuit for selling unauthorized NFT’s of Nike sneakers. But now Nike decided to take things a step further and is accusing StockX of selling counterfeit kicks to unsuspecting customers. According to Bloomberg, Nike went to court to throw dirt on StockX’s reputation by alleging that they purchased four pairs of their own product on their platform website and what they got in return were bandooloo sneakers that  were being passed off as authentic. Related Stories In their amended lawsuit Nike went on to state, “Those four pairs of counterfeit shoes were all purchased within a s...

StockX Responds To Nike’s Bootleg Sneaker Sales Allegations

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: StockX / StockX StockX has responded to Nike’s claims that it sold the brand four pairs of bootleg versions of their sneakers. The online marketplace and resale brand is basically saying, Don’t believe the hype. According to StockX, Nike itself has expressed faith in its authentication process and asserts that the latest court motion amount to sour grapes over its lawsuit against its Vault NFT program. They went as far as to say that they can’t be too mad at the job they’re doing considering its own employees use it. “We take customer protection extremely seriously, and we’ve invested millions to fight the proliferation of counterfeit products that virtually every global marketplace faces today,” said StockX in a formal statement shared with Hip-Hop Wired...
