Staying frosty is at the top of Steve Aoki‘s priority list in the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II trailer. As the fictional Task Force 141 braces for deployment, Aoki is seen putting himself in a winning mindset. While members of the battle-hardened battalion have questions about Aoki’s role in the mission, the DJ is seemingly too preoccupied with what’s playing on the aux and sampling cake in the back of the armored truck to notice. The world’s biggest streaming service is hopping on the NFT bandwagon. Spotify is testing a feature to include NFTs on select artist profiles. Don’t open the Spotify app to try it out just yet though. Only a sample of Android users in the U.S. are a part of the feature test. “Spotify is running a test in which it will help a small group of artists promote their existing third-party NFT offerings via their artist profiles,” says the company as reported by TechCrunch. “We routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve artist and fan experiences.” Requests from industry partners and deepening connections between artists and fans are also cited as reasons for the feature. NFT galleries on artist pages are a simple grid of static images. Videos, GIFs, and sounds are not featured in...

Steve Aoki has been named the new CMO of Orangetheory Fitness. No, not the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, though he certainly has expertise in that department. The most fervent purveyors of NFTs have remained adamant in the technology’s ability to spark a paradigm shift in music, whereby the silos of power transfer from centralized companies and labels back to the artists. Now, Steve Aoki, one of the earliest adopters of the Web3 blueprint, has shared some eye-opening comments illuminating how his bets on NFTs are paying off. At a private Gala Music event, Aoki said he’s made more money from NFTs in the past year than he has through streaming royalties over the last decade, Decrypt reports. “But if I was to really break down, okay, in the 10 years I’ve been making music…six albums, and you [combine] all those advances, what I did in one drop last year in NFTs, I made more money,” Aoki explained. Released last year on ...
