Enugu completes 1,355 school projects in 17 LGAs
Enugu State Government under the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said it has carried out 1,355 verifiable projects in various primary and secondary schools across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, under the State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) and Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), in line with its vision to improve the learning condition of the students. The state government disclosed that besides recruiting over 7,030 primary and secondary school teachers, it also procured and distributed over 50,000 classroom furniture and other learning tools for school children and their teachers across the state. Traffic in Suez Canal resumes after stranded ship refloated
Shipping traffic through Egypt’s Suez Canal resumed on Monday after a giant container ship which had been blocking the busy waterway for almost a week was refloated, the canal authority said. The 400-metre (430-yard) long Ever Given became jammed diagonally across a southern section of the canal in high winds early last Tuesday, halting traffic on the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia. Live footage on a local television station showed the ship surrounded by tug boats moving slowly in the centre of the canal on Monday afternoon. DPR allays fears of fuel scarcity during easter

Ebonyi: Gunmen attack police station in Izzi
Some gunmen in the early hours of Monday attacked the Iboko Divisional Police Station in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria’s South-east. A police station was similarly attacked by gunmen in Akwa Ibom State on Monday. It is unclear, for now, if the attacks on police facilities, which are on the increase lately in the South-east and South-south regions, are coordinated. Officers Ogun Police Command have arrested an armed robbery suspect, Adeolu Bankole, operating in Ayetoro area of the state with a stolen uniform of an officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. The Command, in a press release was apprehended on the 5th of February 2021 following a complaint by some students of Olabisi Onabanjo University that they were robbed of their belonging at a gunpoint. Hoodlums attack police station in Ebonyi, kill three police officers
The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the attack on Onueke police station in Ezza South Local Government area of the state by hoodlums. The Command disclosed that three police officers on duty were gunned down by the hoodlums during the attack. Police spokeswoman DSP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident to reporters in Abakaliki on Sunday, said the hoodlums attacked the station on Friday night. The woman who died Wednesday of a bullet wound during the violent storming of the US Capitol was shot by police, authorities said. The only fatality tied to Wednesday’s unrest was the woman, reportedly a dedicated Donald Trump backer and air force veteran who was among a throng of supporters of the president that invaded the US legislature.
