The intractable crisis rocking the Cross River All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to be gathering momentum as the two factions have issued conflicting statements on the pending May 30th local government election. While a faction led by Sir John Ochala had dissociated the party from the pending local election, describing it as a “charade”, the other faction led by Mr John Etim said it is fully prepared to take part in the council poll. Ogun: Coronavirus has spread to 16 of our 20 local councils
Ogun State Government on Monday said COVID-19 had spread to 16 out of 20 local government areas of the state. The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Tomi Coker, who disclosed in an interview with newsmen, said only four local government were free of COVID-19 in the state as of Monday afternoon. Coker, who mentioned three out of four councils that were free of the virus, said she did not remember the fourth one. She said could not access her diary where the detailed report of the geography was recorded. The commissioner said, “There are four local government areas that are free of these cases. Osun records two new coronavirus cases
Osun State has recorded two new cases of coronavirus and discharged two other patients. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu, in a statement, explained that with the discovery of two new cases, the number of active cases in the state has risen to four, as of May 24. The statement read, “Today (Sunday), two COVID-19 patients were discharged from our isolation and treatment centre to join their families after they tested negative for the virus. “Sadly, we also recorded two new cases, bringing the number of active cases in the state to four. Ebonyi coronavirus cases rise to 22 as four patients discharged
Four more COVID-19 patients in Ebonyi state were on Sunday discharged from the state isolation centre at Unity Square, Abakaliki, the state capital, bringing the total number of discharged patients in the pandemic to six. Meanwhile, the number of cases have risen from 13 to 22 in the state. A team from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) witnessed the discharge of the four patients. Dr. Majinger Ibeneme, Pillar Head, Case Management of the NCDC in the state, said all the patients at the isolation centre were stable.
