Not many electronic artists can say they’ve contributed vocals and music production to projects like Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, American Horror Story and Batwoman. Even fewer can say they’ve written the music for an entire television series. But for Tori Letzler, also known as TINYKVT, it’s just another day in her studio. Her latest synth-heavy work, for which she composed the score, is about to premiere on Netflix. In From The Cold is a sci-fi thriller series that follows an American single mom and shape-shifter, who also happens to be an ex-Russian spy known as “The Whisper.” But once her past is discovered, she must exchange her retirement for secrecy. In her score, Letzler worked to take both sides of this main character into account: her grit and...
Tove Lo has returned with a new song called “How Long,” which appears on the upcoming Euphoria soundtrack. Listen to the song below. Synthesizers snake around “How Long,” which builds from a cool, detached verse to a wary, impassioned chorus. “Try to play it cool/ I like you/ Have me in your hand/ Just like that,” Tove Lo sings at first, over a steady beat. Soon enough, however, she tips her hand. “How long have you loved another while I’m dreaming of us together?” goes her fervent interrogation, as keys bubble. Tove Lo’s edgy electro-pop fits Euphoria’s dingy aesthetic on its own, but “How Long” get a proper needle drop on the show’s next episode, premiering Sunday (January 30th). The artist gushed about contributing to the drama’s soundtrack in a statement. “‘How Long’ is ...

The iconic techno producer led the scoring effort on at least one particular scene and additionally contributed a remix of “My Dream Ended Here” to the forthcoming soundtrack. In prior comments, Tykwer suggested the goal of the hotly anticipated soundtrack is to honor the 90’s film series’ legacy. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis composed the soundtrack to Marie Amiguet and Vincent Munier’s upcoming documentary La Panthère des Neiges, and today they’ve shared “Les Cerfs,” the second preview of the project. Listen to the song below. La Panthère des Neiges sees wildlife photographer Munier and novelist Sylvain Tesson traversing the Tibetan plateau, one of the most undisturbed wildlife sanctuaries in the world, in search of a snow leopard. With that in mind, “Las Cerfs” offers a similarly quiet vibe. Ethereal keys ring out as Cave, in his famous baritone, repeats the line, “I traveled a lot, unaware I was observed.” Perhaps he’s channeling the snow leopard in question. Ellis discussed the inspiration behind the soundtrack in the following statement: “There is something about the he...
