A few weeks ago, 10-year-old Nandi Bushell delivered an impressive cover of the Rage Against the Machine classic “Guerrilla Radio”, in which she played drums, bass, and guitar. Now, RATM’s Tom Morello has gifted the young rocker with his new signature Fender Soul Power Stratocaster. Nandi has been wowing music fans for a few years now, mostly with her skillful drumming. Beyoncé is marking Juneteenth by launching “Black Parade Route”, a new initiative supporting Black-owned small businesses. The newly launched section on Beyoncé’s website includes an expansive list of Black businesses filtered by categories such as “Art & Design”, “Beauty”, “Fashion”, “Lifestyle”, and “Restaurants & Bars”. “Being Black is your activism. Black excellence is a form of protest. BTS aren’t just talking the talk; they’re walking the walk. Days after issuing a public statement in support of Black Lives Matter, the influential K-pop group has now pledged $1 million to the organization. In a statement to Variety, Black Lives Matter confirmed the donation: “Black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression. Bandcamp has been a beacon of charity in these tough times. Having previously waived their fees for 24 hours to support independent musicians, the music website has announced they will donate 100% of their share in sales on June 19th to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Texas native Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves have delivered 110,000 medical masks to rural hospitals in the Lone Star State. The personal protective equipment was paid for by automobile company Lincoln, for whom McConaughey is a spokesperson. The Oscar-winning actor made the announcement in a Facebook statement. Denzel Washington assisted a homeless man in distress in Los Angeles on Thursday. According to TMZ, Washington pulled over to assist a man who was in “some peril with oncoming traffic.” The 65-year-old actor was able to comfort the man and “brought him to safety on the sidewalk.” Even after police arrived, Washington remained by the man’s side and brought him food and a drink.
