Starrah Taps Skrillex, James Blake, More for Debut Album: Listen

Renowned singer-songwriter and producer Starrah has finally unveiled her debut album, the remarkable The Longest Interlude. Starrah’s experiences as a prolific songwriter shine on the new album, which spans 13 tracks. The record looks to be a watershed moment for the prodigious producer, who recently took home a Grammy Award for her work on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé. A genre-bending fusion of hip-hop and sultry pop, The Longest Interlude features production from a number of elite producers. The record’s only traditional feature comes in the form of “Twenty 4,” a drowsy, hypnotic collaboration with Skrillex. While longtime fans of the dubstep legend may be dismayed at the lack of energy in the track, which is devo...

Skrillex and Virtual Riot to Appear on Justin Bieber’s Upcoming “Justice” Album

Justin Bieber has enlisted the production talents of Skrillex and Virtual Riot for Justice, his upcoming sixth studio album. The two bass music heavyweights join TroyBoi, who was recently announced as a collaborator on one of the album’s bonus tracks. Both Skrillex and Virtual Riot are credited on the album’s opener, “2 Much,” which also curiously lists the late Martin Luther King Jr. as a writer. Fans are safe to expect a spoken word sample from the legendary civil rights activist along with pop-leaning production from the Skrillex and Virtual Riot tandem. Skrillex also appears on two additional Justice cuts, “Somebody” and the Burna Boy-assisted “Loved By You.” The former boasts OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder ...

Skrillex, James Blake, More to Appear on Starrah’s Forthcoming Album

After releasing her debut solo lead single “How It Goes” late last year, Starrah is prepping for another new chapter with the release of her debut album.  Due out this month, The Longest Interlude will feature an impressive list of collaborators. Taking her announcement to Instagram, the songstress tagged Nile Rodgers, James Blake, and Skrillex, among other renowned artists.  The announcement of Skrillex in particular has piqued the attention of many in the electronic music community, as there are at least two unreleased IDs that we know of between the two artists. The first is “Twenty4,” a track Skrillex first played in 2018. The consensus is that—due to stylistic reasons—the dance-pop track is most likely the one to be included on Starrah’s fo...

Streamer Experiences Call of Duty: Warzone Glitch That Put Skrillex’s “Bangarang” On Repeat

While playing Call of Duty: Warzone one lucky streamer stumbled upon a music glitch that led to “Bangarang” getting played on repeat.  While Skrillex‘s music and gaming go hand-in-hand, one unsuspecting Reddit user wound up in the situation completely by accident. Though initially surprised, he seemed to appreciate the new soundtrack, head-banging his way from start to finish only for the song to restart once again. Other players chimed in on the streamer’s thread to explain that this phenomenon can sometimes occur when players exit vehicles while the radio is playing. Players describe that the music can be turned off again by finding another vehicle, getting in, and then turning the radio off.   Players can also prevent this from happening by di...

UK Garage Legend Flava D Teases Collaboration With Skrillex

Fabled UK garage and drum & bass producer Flava D is the latest high-profile collaborator to be linked with Skrillex. After she recently hosted an “ask me anything” Q&A session with fans on her Instagram, one of her responses about the Grammy Award-winning “Bangarang” producer sent ripples through the EDM community. When a fan randomly and overtly asked her to collaborate with Skrillex, Flava D replied with a cryptic yet expressive confirmation that a joint effort between the two does in fact exist. “Funny you say that…..” she wrote, also tagging Skrillex in her response, perhaps as a nudge to release it soon. The post was one of a slew of Instagram Stories posted by Flava D, who also shared production tips, information about...

Watch Skrillex, Madeon, Porter Robinson, and More Rage at Justice’s 2017 Coachella Set in Unearthed Clip

The event organizers at Brownies & Lemonade unwrapped a last minute Christmas gift on Twitter yesterday that had festival aficionados feeling nostalgic.  The 90-second video shows a group of dance music heavyweights enjoying a set by Justice from the crowd’s front lines. The clip was recorded at Coachella, where the duo last performed in 2017. Despite the nighttime shot, fans are able to easily identify numerous familiar faces in the clip. As the legendary French duo’s early 2000s classic “We Are Your Friends” plays from the stage, we see DJ Snake, Madeon, and Tchami taking it all in from the crowd. Suddenly, Skrillex jumps in with an up-close cameo, emphatically singing the track’s iconic lyrics. In the next shot, we see several artists, in...

Tisoki’s “Purple Lamborghini” Flip—a Longtime Staple of Excision’s Sets—Has Finally Dropped

Feeling generous light of the holiday season, bass music star Tisoki decided to drop a slate of unreleased music on a whim. The offering contained several remixes and festival secret weapons that the producer has been keeping close to chest, one of which fans have been hounding him about for years. The new bevy of music contains a melodic future bass remix of Billie Eilish‘s “Lovely” and a distortion-heavy dubstep remix of NVADRZ‘ “Maribor Death Valley,” both of which were released as shorter works in progress. Nonetheless, what we heard left us wanting more.  The biggest gem of the bunch is Tisoki’s flip of Rick Ross and Skrillex‘s “Purple Lamborghini,” a track that has eluded his most devoted fans f...

Listen to the Skrillex-Assisted “Baxter Avenue” Off Rapper Jack Harlow’s New Album

Mega-producer Skrillex has a longstanding, well-known love for hip-hop and rap music, and to say a collaboration with prodigious 22-year-old rapper Jack Harlow has been long overdue is an understatement. Their day has finally come with the release of “Baxter Avenue,” a monster track included on Harlow’s latest studio album, Thats What They All Say, released December 11th via Atlantic Records and Generation Now.  Co-written and produced by Skrillex, “Baxter Avenue” features crisp snare hits, languid synths, and punchy kicks overlaid with Harlow’s signature smooth flow. The track is also likely the product of a studio session publicized on Harlow’s social media back in July. While “Baxter Avenue” is the first official release fr...

DJ Scheme and Skrillex Release Heavenly “Homesick” Collaboration With Zacari

Following their recent collaboration on a single for Lil Tecca, DJ Scheme and Skrillex have partnered back up for “Homesick,” the opening cut on Scheme’s new album Family. Despite what Skrillex fans might expect, the track is a delicate, vocal-heavy introduction, featuring the smooth stylings of “Don’t Trip” singer Zacari. It’s songs like “Homesick” that give meaning to the belief “less is more,” a thought process that doesn’t receive much credit in music. With their succinct approach, however, Skrillex and DJ Scheme bring listeners closer to the music, driving greater focus toward each fleeting, angelic acapella and guitar riff, as though they were essential keys to a greater sonic blueprint.  DJ Scheme firs...

Rumors Swirl of Skrillex and Avril Lavigne Collaboration After Recent Instagram Post

Throwing darts at a board may very well be the most successful strategy for predicting who Skrillex will collaborate with next. Ever since Jack Ü’s 2015 collaboration with Justin Bieber, “Where Are Ü Now” was released, covering Skrillex has taught us that you can never really know what’s coming next.  That notion once again became apparent this week as fans were sent into a frenzy upon seeing the producer himself appear in an Instagram Story clip posted by pop-punk icon Avril Lavigne. Though the clip does not seem to have been shot in a studio, fans immediately began circulating rumors of a potential collaboration.  To be fair, this could all be just wish-casting, and some were quick to throw cold water on the idea of a collaboration ta...

Anya Taylor-Joy of “The Queen’s Gambit” Once Starred in a Skrillex Music Video

She was a familiar face in the EDM scene long before she wiped the chess floor with her male counterparts as the badass Beth Harmon. Long before she wiped the chess floor with her male counterparts as The Queen’s Gambit‘s badass Beth Harmon, Anya Taylor-Joy starred in a Skrillex music video. Back in 2016, Taylor-Joy, whose magnetic performance in the critically acclaimed Netflix drama miniseries skyrocketed her to household name status, stunned in the official music video for Skrillex’s remix of GTA‘s “Red Lips (feat. Sam Bruno).” In retrospect, her performance is the antithesis of Beth’s stoic etiquette behind the chess board, where she calmly stares down her opponents with her signature icy glare. Instead, the “Red Lips” vid...

Many fans may remember that the latter teased an unreleased collaboration with Skrillex and Beam earlier in the month.  FAMILY is not the f...
