David Ornstein: Striker set to leave Arsenal this summer

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is set to leave the North London side this summer after a new contract with the club could not be agreed. The 18-year-old has just a year left on the professional contract he signed in February 2016, and the Gunners are ready to sell him in the coming weeks rather than losing him for nothing next summer. Balogun has been prolific for Arsenal at youth level, but he has struggled for first-team opportunities and doesn’t even get to train with Mikel Arteta’s side regularly. The teenager has decided to leave in order to continue his development elsewhere, and he isn’t short of options, with a host of Europe’s leading clubs keen on the Arsenal academy graduate. ‘This week’ – Mick Quinn expecting ‘some good news’ about the Newcastle takeover

Newcastle United were dumped out of the F.A Cup by Manchester City yesterday, with goals from Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling handing the Magpies a 2-0 defeat in the quarterfinals. Steve Bruce’s men had a chance to draw level while they were still a goal down, but Dwight Gayle couldn’t convert a fine chance, and they were punished almost immediately at the other end. The gulf in quality between Newcastle and Man. City was glaring yesterday, but both teams could be challenging for the Premier League title in a couple of years if Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund completes a £300 million takeover of the St. James’ Park outfit. It’s been almost 15 weeks since the Premier League legal team started carrying out checks on the would-be Magpies owners, and it remains to be seen when a deci...

‘Ridiculous’, ‘Pointless’ – Some Villa fans react to latest reports regarding Dean Smith’s future

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith could face the sack soon if reports are to be believed. As per Football Insider, the club chiefs were in talks last night regarding Dean Smith’s future. Aston Villa have failed to win any of their four games since the restart of the Premier League and they are 19th in the league table. The Villa chiefs are looking to sack Dean Smith in a desperate attempt to beat the drop. it will be interesting to see what they decided. If Smith goes, they will have to bring someone in with a long term vision. They cannot afford to make an appointment with the remaining six Premier League games in mind. John Terry could be an option but he is unproven at this level and it would be a major gamble. Aston Villa still have a chance of surviving in the Premier League but they wil...

Speaking to La Derniere Heure, Castagne claimed that PSG and Spurs are two clubs you cannot say not to. He said: “I think the time has come to move on, but I won’t be disappointed if I stay in Bergamo, I’m very proud of this. It’s proof that hard work pays off. It is no secret that Tottenham need to sign a right-back this summer. They were heavily linked with Thomas...

‘Yes please’, ‘Makes sense’ – Some Spurs fans react as Mourinho closes in on 28-yr-old

Tottenham are thought to be keen on signing the Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez this summer. As per Daily Mirror (via Express), Jose Mourinho is getting close to signing the player. Apparently, the Londoners can sign him for £16m plus add-ons. It will be interesting to see if Spurs manage to get the deal done. Vazquez is no longer a regular starter at Santiago Bernabeu and a move would be ideal for him. The Premier League side could use some creative depth as well and the Spaniard wouldn’t be a bad option. Vazquez will be a free agent next summer and Los Blancos are looking to cash in on him this summer. They do not want to lose him on a free transfer. Tottenham should look to sign the player if the reported asking price is true. Vazquez has the ability to justify that outlay. He wil...
