The 35 Best Albums of the Last 35 Years

Let’s face it: With most “Best Albums” lists, you know the broad strokes of the ranking before you even click. Part of that predictability is understandable: Most iconic records earn their reputation. But these rankings shouldn’t be fossilized, and a shit-ton of amazing LPs have been shoved aside in the pursuit of maintaining the status quo. We didn’t ignore the unimpeachable on our list — you’ll see plenty of the staples you’ve come to expect. But we also hope we’ll spark your curiosity and encourage you to hunt for a title you may have missed over the last 35 years. 35. Sigur Rós Announce Release Date of Odin’s Raven Magic

Since forming 18 years ago, fans have hoped that Sigur Rós would release Odin’s Raven Magic. And today, their wish has been granted. Jónsi Shares ‘Swill’ Video, Announces Shiver

Get ready for a visual explosion. And that’s all thanks to Jónsi. Jónsi Birgisson, also known for being the frontman in Sigur Rós, returns with a new video for his single, “Swill.” Directed by Barnaby Roper, the clip opens with his head in focus with hands all over it. The video then moves into a series of other visuals that range from digital illustrations of florals growing on bodies by Pandagunda to clips of people with really long hair whipping it around. There’s definitely a lot going on. “Swill” follows the release of “Exhale,” which he dropped in April. And the two songs are part of his first album in a decade, Shiver, set to release on Oct. 2 via Krunk. The record includes vocal contributions from Robyn and Liz Fraser of the Cocteau Twins. PC Music founder A.G. Cook headed producti...
