Buying a new pair of Air Max is an annual tradition at this point, so why should 2021 be any different? It shouldn’t, and we’re here to help. For those who don’t know, the Nike Air Max was designed by the American designer Tinker Hatfield in 1987, after he embarked on a trip to Paris and visited the Centre Pompidou for the first time. As explained by Sneaker Freaker, “Hatfield, who was trained as an architect, was taken by the building’s inside-out approach — with its structure wrapped around the building’s exterior. From this, came the idea to expose the inner workings of the shoe, and the visible Air window was born.” In...

Mariah Carey’s Favourite ’90s Fashion Trend Has Fluttered Back Into Our Wardrobes

Fashion just can’t get enough of the biggest trends of the ’90s, and neither can we. First slip dresses returned with a vengeance, then strappy sandals became the unofficial shoe of the summer, and now butterflies are surprisingly making a major comeback. This sweet detail was recently worn by Dua Lipa at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The Future Nostalgia singer wore a Versace dress featuring a crystal butterfly on the bodice that instantly took over our timelines. On the catwalks, butterflies were spotted all over Temperley London and Zimmerman’s spring/summer 2021 collections. But thanks to Instagram’s style set, butterflies have been making an appearance on all things clothes, and accessories, and even beauty. Who could forget those ubiquitous butterfly clips of the &#...

NNPC seeks $1 billion funding to revive PHC refinery

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, is currently shopping for $1 billion to revamp Nigeria’s biggest refinery located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. To realise its plans, the nation’s oil company is already in high-level discussion to raise the money via a prepayment deal with trading firms. If the financing is successful, the long overdue rehabilitation of the refinery should reduce Nigeria’s hefty fuel import bill. It would also mark Nigeria’s second oil-backed financing since the COVID-19 pandemic that has added to the difficulty of finding investors as fuel demand is sapped by lockdowns and renewable energy is gaining ground over fossil fuels. The money would be repaid over seven years through deliveries of Nigerian crude and products from the refinery once the refurbis...

The trend is evident as shown by recent data. Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, reported that its third-quarter e-commerce sales surged 79 percent from a year ago. Amazon, the largest e-commerce retailer, reported a 37 percent ...
