Of all the microtrends that have popped up this summer the daisy trend has to be my favourite. I’m often not so bothered by ostentatious, overly pretty florals but I’ve had a change of heart. The reason? It’s all to do with one brand in particular: Fabrizio Viti. The Italian designer might not be a name you immediately know but you will instantly recognise the fashion houses he’s created footwear for—from Gucci to Prada, he now remains the Shoe Style Director of Louis Vuitton where he’s been since 2004.  It’s no surprise then that his eponymous label, which he launched in 2016, has given us a host of incredibly chic shoes. The pared-back aesthetic of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s brand has created so many brilliant footwear styles—from last summer’s strappy sandal to winter’s chunky tread boot. And now? Today, it’s the turn of the closed-toe sandal. In the summer of last year, you couldn’t scroll through Instagram without seeing at least one image of The Row’s Bare Mid-Heel Strappy Sandals. (You know the ones.) The minimalist shoes with a skinny mid-heel and three very strategically placed thin straps. From editors and influencers to It girls and celebrities, the shoes had a very stylish fan base the world over and garnered the coveted title of a sellout accessory. Sandal brand Arizona Love popped up on my radar last year when I spotted a steady stream of Instagram influencers wearing the printed trek sandals. Jessie Bush, Erica Davies and our very own Who What Wear columnist Monikh were all spotted wearing the shoes. There was only one problem: They kept selling out. I love it when items of clothing really last. And I don’t just mean in terms of trends, although that is helpful, but durability too. One pair of sandals that I’ve worn repeatedly over the past four summers is a pair of black block-heel sandals from & Other Stories. They’re classic, not too high and go with everything from jeans to midi dresses.
